I believe last seasons deal with Parasol was worth more than the previous deal with Lloyds TSB.
The new combined shirt sponsorships for 2010 is the biggest in Rovers history, and in the current difficult financial climate the club (and Paul Lakin) should be applauded.

If it generates cash for the club and means more likelyhood of progression and success then I couldn't care if we look like Lewis Hamilton running out for the 1st game of the season at the Asda Craven Park.

iirc, Villa do it as their main sponsers went bankrupt last season, and no one wanted to replace them, then they just kept it.
And Barcalona have had unicef as their sponsers for years.

Wouldnt surprise me if it was the biggest in rovers histroy. Finishing 4th in SL should have that effect and the sponsor has managed any risk by it been a 1 year deal.

Maybe he looked at the accounts of other clubs and saw it there. They may be a year out of date but it would have been a decent yardstick.

The accounts of other clubs (and indeed Rovers) will show their total income from sponsorship but not how much is received from each individual sponsor. Sponsors generally like to keep the precise amount of the deal confidential.
