Basically Cas have made a moral stance rightly irrelevant of the level of player..the media will use this as part of the circus which may add more pressure of KR

I am saying that affray is the use of or the threatening of violence.Affray is a more serious charge because it means that there was more than one person involved. In Gerrards case it seems there was n o evidence that he assaulted anyone but the Crown takes the view that he threatened to do so with the crowd he was with. Is that clear enough for you? I also asked, would you still want Crocker to play for you?

And had it been Westerman or one of their other first team stars, would the decision have been as easy?

The decision has been dealt with by the courts and what the judge, who had all the evidence, considers to be a relevant punishment has been handed out.

i think the club should be liasing with the RFL on this one, there is no point repremanding him if the RFL are then going to wade in with something else. i for one would not relese him because he will definately get snapped straight up. he has matured on the field considerably over the last 12 months and looks to have addressed his temprement, off the field however, i could'nt possibly comment!

Had you followed my posts I was discussing the media circus which now surronds KR & Cockayne. I believe the fact Cas have acted has placed pressure on KR, 2 clubs 2 sets of standards etc..

I do not agree with the media circus..I am aware it is not isolated incident as I have watched the sport for 30 yrs and I am more than aware of off field antics, decent posters can debate this, you however seem unable to do this

Crocker's punishment was a £300 fine for what's been described as a "scuffle". I don't recall reports of him inflicting 7 broken ribs, a broken nose and severe head swelling on anyone, but if you can post a link, fair enough.

Unfortunately RL players have a track record of getting into trouble with nightclub scuffles and the like and both Hull clubs have their fair share. IMO, the clubs (FC included) and the RFL have let them off too lightly with the old "dealt with internally" whitewash. Even you must see, though, that this one, with the sustained and brutal nature of the attack and its consequences in terms of injuries, tips into a different category.

The strange thing about this is, i thought that during the summing up by the judge, he stated that one of the reasons for not sending them to prison was because the victim suffered no real injuries, if thats the case then, how come all these injuries have suddenly come to light?.

The suspended sentence is an example of the shambles that our judicial system has evolved into.
Based on the video evidence he should be behind bars and I think the RFL will have "words" with HKR about the continued employment of a convicted thug.

I keep reading how Cas have done the moral thing in sacking their player but yet they were trying to and came very close to signing Ben before he signed a contract extension with us knowing full well he had pleaded guilty to the allegations

They also not long ago signed Dwayne Barker who also had a previous conviction.

I don't buy into this whole moral highground thing.

This cas reaction is laughable ,they seem to have acted to appear whiter than white in terminating a player who has appeared for the reserves once this season ,dont forget this is a club that gave a trial to a drug cheat chased away by his own sport who was known worldwide and then took on a previous SL drug cheat,and before you say they were both punished before so was ben cockayne .This is not in defense of ben cockayne BTW

Well it sounds like it, taking a steroid will only affect the person taking it (yes its wrong) . Seems beating the crap out of someone on cctv does not carry a ban as it did in the cases you refer to .

Because both of the cases reffered to involved something that would alter the performance of the players in the sport.

answer this HONESTLY would you have been as quick to sack westerman ,also your club tried to sign ben knowing of the assault

didnt get the right punishment though ive seen people jailed for far far less
