You failed miserably in your attempt to dismiss the link road so clutch at the straw of the hotel not being viable, all the time claiming that you have no club related axe to grind, and stating ALL Rovers fans think the hotel is a bad idea, desperation springs to mind.
Unless you are some sort of research and development executive at Premier Inn or Travelodge I would guess you are not really in a position to decide such issues, and would also hazard a guess these type of companies, if they are going to be involved, aren't doing so because they are big Hull Kingston Rovers fans, it's more likely tobe because they believe it is viable, and so they stand to make a tidy profit from such a development.
Personally if the hotel is dependant on the Siemens site being based in Hull I think we're shafted, as I would be surprised if we get it here, unless there is some sort of incentives offered by the government, due to the horrendous employment situation here at the present time.

I think that the resounding success of East Hulls Cornmill Hotel proves the necessity for a Hotel in the up and coming Greatfield area.

However, there is an opportunity that guests would rather stay in the current state Cornmill hotel, so any business plan needs to consider that.

Cornmill as you well know is on Holderness Road closer to town than Greatfield, if you want a comparison then look at Platform 1 on old Hedon Road or whatever it is called, they have expanded and expanded over the years. There is plenty of business already down Hedon Road with the Saltend and Docks area that will all require a level of accommodation only afforded by the Hotel in Hedon and Platform 1 so I can see plenty of existing usage from them, the Green Project at the docks would be an added bonus.

OK fair enough.
Platform one went bankrupt, and is now Trinity Hotel. This scores a 2 star on Trip advisor, so maybe not the best of hotels.
I suspect that most business that require a "good" hotel, will put clients in town, and taxi them there.
If Rovers do acquire a hotel, it will either fulfill the B & B market (contractors) or nothing IMO. You simply cannot plonk decent hotels in terrible areas and expect them to be successful, whatever buisness may be in the area. A 10 min taxi ride from town is not really a big deal.

Rovers won't build or acquire a hotel. A commercial partner might, I suppose, if they thought it a viable business proposition. The people who make that decision will, I imagine, have to sit in very boring meetings considering bullet points (if it even gets that far), exactly the sort of thing that people come on here for a moments respite from.

I think that the building excitement on here over a five star Marriot forming part of the new South Stand at rovers probably deserved some comment though.

A hotel with conference tat, green renewable power related tat and some sort of community sports facility will obviously look good on any EU related begging letter. Any hotel within the South Stand development would probably end up pretty pointless to Rovers but if it means finishing the south end, then clearly it's something we/board have to try.
