| Big effort and turnaround today especially in defense. How that clown in the middle is allowed to officiate games is beyond me though.

Scott Micklouskas is from Leigh but supports Wigan apparently? Just another typical performance from him. A 40/20 That wasn't. Totally obvious head n feeds given other way and 2 tries from forward passes. Then doesn't call a blatant pen at the end which would see us kick for win. Saying that we still should have won. Hard few week ahead

| At least after that Smith now knows what he's up against and what's needed.
Good effort at times but very poor at others, poor line speed, poor game management, another 'win' we failed to see out too. Hopefully a few 'big' players due back soon too (Quinlan, Maguire, Garbutt)
I think there was some good signs today though and think Smith will do well, big job ahead of him though

| Did anyone ever think Mr Mouse was going to give us a penalty for obstruction from the short kick off one minute from the end??? not in a month of Sundays. I,ll watch it back to see if it was the correct decision, but through my biased eyes the non decision stank.
The 40/20???not sure if it was, if it was it was very marginal, but no way was the play the ball from another 3-4 yards further forward.
Some of those decisions were very dubious, and always seem to go against us. That said, Wigan were nothing special, yet we lost again at home when we shouldn,t. We need a hooker and we need some wins, nothing else matters now, or we will be relegated.Smith has a big job to do.

| We switched off 5 mins before half time and they scored TWICE. That was the difference.
We all know MickeyMouse isn't fit to ref a kids game so there's no point arguing. Nothing we can do about the ref, there IS something we can do about our concentration level and the way we play.
Dagger had a great game (Sheens didn't give him a chance).
Owen Harrison had a great game (Sheens never played him, he just sat as a sub for 80 mins).
Addy was rubbish then got injured.
Mulhern played great (in the last 40 seconds).
Drinkwater was just awful (again).
Now Smith has seen them first hand, lets see what he can do to help them.

| It’s amazing how we can all watch the same game but see different things.
Yeah the ref was poor, but he didn’t drop off or miss tackles. He didn’t get the numbers wrong in defence just before half time so Wigan’s attack could have a 3 man overlap. He didn’t make Rovers attack absolutely clueless in the first half & not much better in the 2nd half.
That was a low quality match played by 2 poor teams.
Wigan were there for the taking, but rovers-regardless of the refs ineptitude-were not good enough!
The only plus point is that the effort was there for longer than the usual 40 minutes we are used to.

Dagger had a good 2nd half, he was pony in the 1st half, I actually wondered what he was meant to be doing....it looked like he was wondering the same thing.
Harrison had an ok game (not one player can claim they played “great” today) but need to run with more intent...he’s young, it’ll come.
Addy was rubbish, it says a lot when I’m wishing we at least had Tommy Lee at 9.
Drinkwater was very poor, the team lacked direction, he was the only halfback playing in his natural position for most the game. The lack of direction is his fault! The fact that the rest of the team didn’t run off him or for him can only be poor communication, or they don’t like him.
Where has the Mulhern from last season gone, if anyone knows can they please ask him to come back....I miss that guy.

The way Drinkwater was verbally abusing the linesman in the last 10 minutes, he might get a ban.
Mulhern is a shadow of himself.
The lack of direction is a big concern. Tomkins is not the type of captain we need right now. We need someone to start bossing the players around on the field.

His kicks were awful.
His passing was average.
He seems to paniced at times.

I noticed him giving the linesman some verbals after the 49/20. Like I said from where I stand the ball was close enough to the 20m mark for it to be debatable. It certainly wasn’t as deep as the linesman gave which was about 15m from our try line. I’ll have to watch it back on KRTV, but it would be good to hear from someone who was in line with the 20m mark as there view will be better than mine was.

I saw it bounce out, Not a 40/20. I actually said to the brother in law, where is the linesman running to? Then Bingo, nowhere near where it actually went out.

Crooks and Tomkins both cautioned - Tomkins for disputing ref decision.

| posted this on your "Hudgell Out" topic by mistake sorry, should be on here.
Tony Smith will be your best signing for many a year. He is great at revitalising a club, getting a solid game plan together that they have to buy into and playing at the right end of the table and winning more than you lose.
If he can do that for you lot then you will be in Ga Ga land, but I think he will do it for you.
I think you'll stay up now, and you'll have 4 or 5 seasons of lets say...enjoying watching your side.
If FC can keep progressing and Smith can bring something to you guys, then how great would it be to have another period like we had between 78-85.
Would be great for Rugby in this City and for the game in general.....and it would be nice to have some real opposition in the Derbys lol.
The only question mark with Smith is he seems to have a shelf life, whereby he feels he has to leave or the team and supporters tend to just fall out of love with him. Even after the success he brought Warrington their board was fed up to the back teeth with him by the time he did finally leave.
But I bet they appreciate what he did for them now when they look back.
So good luck with that one, but not too much of course. Just stay around 4th place for a few years and don't actually win anything proper.

Genuine question, how long has he signed for? Is it just till the end of the season or longer?
