i have heard from a couple of mates leaving the east stand that this bottle throwing thing happened. their version however was that a half full plastic pint glass was what was thrown. got a couple of supporters a bit wet (if newbies might not come back). all a bit pathetic really

My mate said he witnessed the same incident but stated that the glass was half empty. Mind you he is a pessimists.

In a nutshell

If you bother to re-read Phil Webbo's reply, you'll note that he never said Mike Smith was personally overseeing the CCTV or in fact any CCTV was been reviewed. He said Mike Smith contacted control, who oversee the area on the day (eyes on the ground/stand etc) and they apparently said no incidents were reported.

If the plastic liquid projectile incident [udid[/u happen then ...

a) It wasn't picked up by stewards on the ground and any eyes in control using CCTV, although I'm not sure if it would be monitored in real/live time tbh. No official complaint/report was made to the club by those effected, as presumably the projectile missed or didn't effect anyone to do so. Therefore club has no reason to review footage of an incident they're not aware actually happened.
b) It was seen and just ignored

I would like to believe 'a' would be the logical answer, although I would never rule out 'b' either. As sometimes I think the stewards main and only job is to keep an aisle clear, and any proper work is too much hassle. The art of lobbing beer in the east stand happens all too frequently, whether try related or directed at officials or opposition players. Yet, it's hardly ever acted upon. I recall a tv game, where a flash point occurred on the pitch right in front of the east stand and just so much in front of a group of lads, who in football circles I would call risk fans. They certainly lobbed one beer at 'some' player and I recall another missed. Definitely right in front of some stewards who definitely ignored what they saw.


In any event, my main observation looking @ the north stand was that it looks pretty easy to access the playing area from. In as much as, there's no security fence or barrier to realistically stop anyone. There's just the tiniest of tv pitch advertising boards which looked no taller than 40cm. Even Anakin could probably hurdle that. Obviously our game against Hull would be my biggest concern, but even the likes of Cas and Wigan fans have been a tad excitable of late. A small celebratory pitch incursion is possible/highly likely imo given the correct circumstances (important try etc).

I was in that stand and due to waiting for the crowds to die down due to my kids still being small I can confirm you that you have been fed grade A baloney or I'm blind.

yer i remember them derbys well.awesum.hav'nt been to a derby there since they stopped they away fans going in there which is perfectly understandable with the attendances going up the way they have..would'nt work now though as i feel there's a hatred developed since the super league era.sadly as the idiots from both clubs show at k.c north east corner there would 100% be kick off.not a f.c/k.r thing just society.like to see you get a stand like your new one at opposite end purely for away fans.derbys would be as good as k.c then.did go to craven park or wotever its called now for samoa game and thought they had'nt finished stand because you could just walk down steps onto pitch.apart from that massive improvement on golf stand or grass hill
