Mcdonnell likely to be missing, is a massive blow for FC, hope it's smoke and mirrors from Gentle but somehow doubt it. IMO our only chance is a strong defence in a low scoring game, FC by 4 but won't be putting any money on it. Worse case scenario is a run away win for KR

That could be a good tactic. We're at our most vulnerable when we're leading by 20 odd points. One try and we crumble.

Take away the Cas game and our average score per game is under 16 points, get 20 and your probably home and hosed.

On our results / fixtures page the KO time is in the score column, 14:45 might be worth a couple of quid

Poor Cas - take away our game with them and our points per game against is over 27 points.

Gentle has said "if holdsworth comes up to me and says he's ok to play, he will play", what are the chances of him saying he's not ok to play even if he is feeling pain? McDonnell will play aswell

I'd out money on Holdsworth and McDonnell, in true Easter style, resurrecting their fitness come Thursday afternoon.

Rovers by 12, think they're gonna struggle to create much with their halves struggling, although I like their back row combo of Galea, Tickle and Watts.

I think we'll be able to offer more in attack, and as someone else pointed out, a lot of the points we conceded against cas was down to bad luck or off the cuff brilliance from Rangi Chase. Can't see anyone in the Hull side who can play like him so I'm confident we can keep them out.

Whilst it is a 'no-no' to offer any form of rationale on derby matches, it seems to me both teams main areas of concern are; Rovers inability to defend mistakes, and FCs inability to capitalise on their opponents mistakes (the Cas game excepted).

However, and most importantly, Rovers have been capitalising on their opponents mistakes with clinical aplomb, so it is this factor alone that swings it for me.

Rovers to win by 6-8pts but not without the inexplicable errors to keep us on the edge of our seats!

I am a little puzzled why so many Rovers fans here seem to think Hull will win easily! We have been truly atrocious at times this season. You have the momentum, we have the KC and I cant call it. I just hope both very mediocre teams pull out all the stops to serve up a cracker and put all the other televised game in the shade and prove there is only 1 TRUE derby!!

We're without our 1, 6, 7, captain, and derby talisman. If you were without Eden, Burns, Dobson, Paterson and Welham, would you be confident? Think it will be pretty one-sided in Rovers favour, but there's always that edge of unpredictability, I guess. Hopefully it will be a close game and we'll win by 2 courtesy of an incorrect call in our favour by Ganson.

And Dont forget Zods claim we have the best half back pairing in S/L MrsB

And that Burns is "far superior" to Blake Green. And of course Paterson is the best back rower in the competition, stats prove it. And Hodgson a far better hooker than Houghton. Bleak outlook for us.

If we dont feel confident going into this game, then we never will! We have won 3 out of the last four games, got near enough a full strength team and Hull FC have got alot of injury problems. Although it is often an unpredictable outcome in a derby match there is no reason why we cant put points on FC tomorrow and come away with the bragging rights and the 2 points. KR by 16, I just hope i have finished work in time to watch it!!!

Lets be honest here mrs b uve never had ur captain so u dont actually know what u lost there we can't blame injuries Craig sandercock had the same last season 4 of our top earners out yet he gets slated for going on about injuries, no doubt Eddie and Stevo will be pointing out that u have half ur team out, gentle said at the beginning of the season u now have enough depth in ur squad to cover pivotal positions did he not, can't use injuries as an excuse and u shud know that a derby doesn't always go the way that everyone thinks it will.

In all fairness, as bad as FC have been at times this year your home form has been very good. I think Gentle has only lost twice at home during his time here. Add to that Rovers generally poor away form and lack of being able to put an 80 minute performance together and we are staring at a loss.
The bookies have Hull odds on to win the game so you can see why we’re not overly confident (or never are to be honest)

If mcdonnell holdsworth were playing and fully fit I'd expect a relatively comfortable Hull win as rovers are gash, but without them (fully fit) then we're FUBAR'd. No kicking game, no creativity and no direction. dobson will kick us to death, we'll inevitibly make errors and you'll score off the back of them. Don't see us scoring more than 3 tries which won't be enough
