Mike Smith was asked at a forum IIRC where as the likes of Pearson and Gentle have been pretty visible in the press with their top-four boasts only today anyone who listened to Gentle's voice could tell he was pretty rattled because although he may claim there's depth in his squad, there is a pretty significant lack of top-end quality to do anything of note and that ain't gonna be fixable any time soon because you have a lot of ageing, average and declining players on big money and long contracts.

In seasons gone by FC have had the likes of Manu, Moa and Turner to create something out of nothing but now your whole squad looks one-dimensional, one-paced and predictable and that ain't gonna win all or get you many plaudits except from maybe James Smailes, Craig Murdock and Mike Robinson...

To be honest stan i was waiting for fc to start doin all the little tricks on the pitch that gentle promised the fans however i do think they will still be up there when it counts i think a lot of pundits have put a downer on our team this season

Craig Sandercock take a bow. He really is galvanising this team into something special we are starting to see these youngsters coming through now which means the team is developing strength in depth. We blew thunder off the park and our youngsters gave these so called super stars a game in the second half. It all appears to be coming together now for the sandman. I forecast us to be in the mix come end of season, even with welham out i feel this year replacements are in abundance. Also great to see the General back to his best blowing all away on these forums.

I don't think so my pretentious friend. You bring up historic incidents of fans misbehaviour, then get defensive when I bring up a particularly embarassing incident involving your club, and all of a sudden I'm missing the point. Are you sure that your lot might be even worse than ours? It'e a worry isn't it?

We've got a lot of work to do, but I think we have improvement in us. Hull KR also have quite a bit of work to do - nearly threw away a game you should have stuffed us in. Defensively I don't think you have a lot to offer and will get punished badly in the season unless you can improve that. Speed, your fast including PTB and passing.

We tackled well, but were unorganised, and most disappointingly unenthusiastic. You can certainly see we don't have a Dobson type player in our squad at the moment. He was monumental for you again - every time I see him on the field he gives 100% for the Red and Whites. We desperately could do with a player like him, its definitely our missing piece of the jigsaw.

At the end of the day, friendlies are always weird due to the amount of experimentation going on, but I think the game will have taught both coaches useful lessons.
