Much as I dislike a lot of things Bailey does, the telling thing is that most Leeds fans still like and want him. If Willie Mason becomes really unpopular with the rest of SL (a la Bailey), that is fine - it will probably mean we are winning. Whether we, one-eyed and biased as we are, are still still cheering will be the barometer of his success.

His villainous grin is already looking like the warm, open smile of a loveable larrikin to me. I'm guessing you're not seeing it?

Ryan Bailey should be honored to be mentioned in the same breath. Willie Mason has achieved more in the game than most players could dream of. The fans of his last club certainly don't have any issues with him.

He is undoubtedly your highest profile signing and probably one of the highest profile signings ever in Super League.

However I don't think he is your best signing. That was Dobson. Dobson wins matches for you and Mason will not do that.

What he can do, if you get your act together on the marketing side, is raise interest among your wider fan base and increase attendances. If he does that, then his signing will have been a success.

When Del Boy got offered a job in Australia by one of old mates (the bald bloke with the wig) Rodney couldn't get a visa due to him having a drugs record, he'd only had a puff on a joint, that was over 10 years ago. Similar type of rules getting into Australia as the UK.

Not sure if Rodney was going to play in the NRL or not as i can't remember with it being a long time ago.

Was interesting to hear Justin talk about Mason playing in our backrow. I assumed that he would be coming to play in our front row so could it mean a new deal for Wheeldon now or has Justin got his sights on another prop?

Mason is better suited to the back row and with Watts, Vella, Clinton and Lovegrove it's probably where you'll see him.

Im liking the thought of Mason playing in the back row, with Galea moving to loose.

Mason has not got a police record not even a speeding ticket so really cant see what the problem with a visa would be, lets just welcome him and hope he does a good job for us, am sure o'meley will look after his best mate while over here, roll on 2011....

4yrs ago we were within touching distance of SL, 4yrs on we've secured one of the biggest signings in the SL era.

At first I was a bit unsure whether it would be a good signing or not but I now have to admit that I'm very excited by it now.

We have to still remember though that its still subject to a medical and visa paperwork being approved. I'm confident though that Rovers will not fall in to the same trap that others have.

I was wondering whether JM saw him primarily as a prop or back rower. Even if Wheeldon leaves, we still have Vella, Clinton, Watts, Lovegrove and Netherton (young Green too?) - enough to cover prop, but probably not enough for LF as well, if that is a tactic we want to continue with.

Have we established there was no police involvement with his (=#FF0000reported (MR)) link to Class B drugs?

If there was, that could be a visa hurdle.
