lets be honest, if was to release all 20 average players, then you would still try and sign them..

This is one of the main reasons weve been poor the past couple of years. We were told by our inept board that utility value was the future for SL. One or two maybe utility players fair enough but not a squad full.

Peter Sharp apeared to be a great fan of the utility player and Agar has tended to follow the same methods and ideals.

So Crocker, Long, Fitzgibbon & O'Meely, Luaki and (possibly) Moa are utility?

Lets face it Richard Horne in his prime enabled him to get his brother a contract, he's now well past that and knows he is lucky to be there himself, so without any barganing power Hull have got rid of Grahame without a whimper.

King, was undoubtedly one of those players your ex coach labelled " a cancer within the club" and despite numerous trangressions was rewarded with another contract (s) so has been very lucky to last as long as he has.

Both these players may find a S.L. club at a lower level although to be fair it will hard to find one below their ex employer but its more likely one or both will probably end up in NL1.

Anyway, at 17/18k his experience would represent decent value for money IMO.

When all's said and done, Justin Morgan's credentials in terms of squad construction have been verified by his success in terms of progressing the club.

It's all about choices and some might say that the money would be better spent elsewhere but I doubt you'll find another player with his SL experience for such a small salary.

For example; Greame Horne would command less than a 10th of Sean Berrigan's salary next year yet I'd be fairly confident Greame Horne would be fit and available for selection for more games next year.
