You are totaly missing the point of what i am saying, which is, people rarely remember the losers
Of course Neil Hudgell and everbody else connected to the club inc myself would prefer to get to wembley and lose rather than not get there at all but it still would not change the fact that over the years most people outside of the club would not remember that we had reached Wembley unless we had actualy gone there and won.
As i stated in my reference to Hull city in the earlier post, years from now people will remmember Hull city for for their victory, the other finalists name will fade into obscurity.
So to elaborate on my point just so there is no confusion this time around.
Winners and losers.

Winner = everbody remembers one

Losers = Hull Fc no one remembers them

depends if you class back to back titles plus still been one of only three or four clubs in rugby league ever to win the treble in one year, as been second tier trophies.

I think you have to have two catagories, modern and old pitches.

It's impossible for an old pitches to match modern pitches in some respects. With modern drainage, laser leveling and synthetic elements pitches like those at the KC and Galpharm are near perfect most of the year - possibly too perfect.

BV is not perfectly level it actually rises a little in the middle. However it's slight imperfection IMHO makes it a better pitch. For reasons I don't know BV never gets waterlogged and never cuts up and the grass is always lush I suspect the fact that BV is so open helps, possibly the only upside to the ground.

So IMHO BV is the best of the traditional pitches by some way, and because of it's the character it is possible the the best if not the most perfect surface overall. It's also worth a note that BV is one of the few traditional pitches that is full size, something a number of older pitches are not which again gives a better impression.

Other older pitches that look good are Cas and Saints.

One modern pitch that always looked bad was Widnes, but that may have improved.

Sorry if I missed the point. I thought you were saying that it didn't matter how many cup finals you appear in unless you win them. My point was that it did matter. Never mind.

Well unlike your mobs frequent name change and RL byelaw breaking, Rovers submitted all relevent documentation and was then allowed to sign the squad members as you'll know as you spend more time reading & posting on the Rovers board than yours - no rules broke, bent or twisted by Rovers - can you say that about your players? No I didn't think so.

Maybe you should just deal with the issues at hand and stop moaning about the past.

If you wanna moan about stuff, then whenever a club (regardless of sport) gets taken over, they essentially become a new company with the same assets!

Arsenal have actually been owned by about a dozen different companies in the last 20 yrs. I think the current company is Red and White Holdings. But the players and name have stayed the same, but are a different company.

That happened at Hull FC - same assets, new owners.

Get over it - its boring and just shows the intelligence of the East Hull supporters if you [uSTILL [/ucant understand that its business - simple as!

having layed a new pitch a year or two ago that would help massively in winning the best playing surface

Slightly off topic, used to love it before the derbys on the old baked mud of the Boulevard when a Rovers fan would run on and sprinkle grass clippings on the centre circle and the Rovers fans would sing "What's it like to play on grass!"....Priceless!

They certainly did, it was transformed and was superb afterwards.

Always been a superb playing surface, in recent years. Before was a sand pit, now excellent.

What a great idea by Rovers, to invest the money from the service level agreement with the Council, for work in the community, on the construction of the best playing surface in Super League.

Yup just need a team and a stadium now
