Because they want to be able to see what is going on? Perhaps!

All this die hard rubbish annoys me - fans will go to which games they want to/can get to for whatever reason. Most of us would love to get to every home and away game but very few people are in the position to be able to do that for whatever reason.

I would expect this season for the amount of travelling support from every club to decrease because a lot of people aren't going to have the same level of available money with things as they are at the moment and unfortunately when money is tight "luxuries" such as away games will be the first thing to go for most people.

At the end of the day though any away fans in a bonus and clubs need to be focusing on getting home fans in as these are the people who will (hopefully) come back week in week out throughout the season.

I thought they were North Stand tickets that were returned to our shop, the North Stand is as close to the pitch as your South Stand, plus it has seats.

I think they are fantastic. Whenever they have turned up at KR I've always wanted to give them some applause because they seem to get everywhere and are so committed. So I'll just give them some applause here, if you don't mind.







(And I aint patronising or anything. I think they are a wonderful group of fans. I feel the same about the even smaller bunch of nutters who travel all the way from France!)

Sorry if already mentioned but Bulls chairman Peter Hood congratulates HKR fans in this weeks League Express for their away support at Odsal the other weekend.He says they brought 2500 and were absolutelty excellent.He reckons Rovers sold 1000 tickets and had a walk up of 1500(don't know how he can gauge this,probably bumming up the home crowd) and apart from paying admission they ate lots of pies and drank lots of beer he adds.I wish more clubs would emulate that he says.Perhaps his own club will emulate it when they visit Craven Park.

Must admit the Hull clubs away support is by far the biggest travelers to BV with Wigan & Leeds next up.

I would agree with you but the last 2 seasons it as been on a Sat night in front of SKY & P*ssing it down which put a lot off but not me i love going to the Hull games great atmosphere

I help run a Supporters club & im trying & winning to get more fans to the away games but some people are put off by what there here from other fans on how fans have been treated by Stewards at KR Hopefully next week it wont be raining & the Stewards wont insisted on us seating down in a puddle of water on our seats but if we have to so be it i'll bring a towel .

Ok, a week on Sunday you have your chance to prove this theory. I expect at least 1,000 Wakey fans. Owt less will be described as poor.

I agree 100% if we beat Wire on Friday i can could see a lot more that went to Wigan for the first match & with it been on a sunday i think you could get a surprise of how many Wakey bring & this will come back to haunt me

your away support is good i agree with that, but it wasn't always like that.

when the bad times come again will you still have good away support? in the national league your away support was pretty poor,i remember you only bringing 100 or so to huddersfield a few years back, keep it up for the next few years like your city neighbours then you can say you have great away support, remember the bandwagon is still rolling for now

I'm going to sound like a few others here but seriously I dont think we've got 25,000 away fans and a billion home supporters but I was one of the minority that used to go in the dark days when we still outnumbered the likes of Batley, Dewsbury, Rochdale, Oldham...etc often 2-1 if not more. It was nice to go to Leigh (pah what am I saying its never nice to go to Leigh!), Whitehaven and the like to have some competition vocally!!!

Your away support last night was fab, especially given that you've had to travel all that distance on a Friday night. It was also really vocal, which helped create a great atmosphere (I was amazed, Saints fans actually made noise last night too, which is a real shocker) and not once so far as I could see - not once - did any of your fans fight with each other!!

(Definite improvement on last year!)

Well it's hardly surprising that in the NL's our support overall was less than it is now. Regardless, even then Rovers away support was rarely matched by teams coming to Craven Park.

The only team then to travel in serious numbers was Widnes, Leigh brought a few when they started doing well and Hudderfield when they got relegated brought a few but nothing startling.

Rovers can claim a great away support because they have, it's as simple as that. Our first season was a struggle to stay up, our next we finished mid table. Hardly results which will have the glory seekers travelling in huge numbers are they? And yet in general our away support is usually hundreds more than the opposing teams bring to Craven Park.

Percentage wise of home attendances , Rovers travelling support has always been high - even in the wilderness years.
