Not a problem but his actions are not actions that warrant any defence. You may see his comments as just derogatory but the simple fact is they were racist no matter what slant or circumstances are put on them. Calling some-one a c***t is derogatory calling an Asian a paki c***t is racist.

dum-dum has always come across as a rational and balanced person who would immediately understand that trying to defend the indefensible merely tars one with the same brush.

Do you really think that the fault lies with the media for highlighting that what Cockayne did in his own time was racist and unacceptable? Do you honestly think that just because others are sadly just as bad or worse in attitude than Cockayne then that makes his actions all right?

Do you truly believe that because the phrase "P--i C---" was posted only to his friends and not to the target himself that means that Cockayne is not racist? Despite the fact that the phrase is even in his head in the first place? Despite the fact he believes the Channel Tunnel should be blocked and signs up to right-wing extremist groups?

I can't believe dum-dum would say that a man who lies and cheats his way out of the army, half kills a man in the most cowardly of ways and makes racist remarks in private albeit on a publicly accessible website is a pleasure to talk to and a "great lad". And then goes on to bemoan the fact that it's all unfair because it's alright to be that way as long as it's done privately and the big mean newspaper blokes are the real crooks in all of this because they've shown him up for what he is and ruined his career and plenty of other people in the world are just as bad so that makes it all right then. Really? Shows how wrong you can be about people.

If not for the modern media surrounding the game, he would still be an Hull KR player.

I have alot of time for him, on every occasion I've met him he's been brilliant.

Can I just clarify I don't condone what he's been up to. I just don't care about it. Gone are the days of news being news and not what David Beckham had for breakfast.

You never asked a question though did you. You attempted to mock a poster and then ask that poster if he even knew what racism was when clearly you do not fully understand racism.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) there is a direct link to how players behave on the pitch and how they behave off it. As a club we have to have an ethos of respect both to the club and to the fans. By being directly disrespectful to the management it can cause a ripple effect that the younger players who will start to behave in a similar manner to the the senior players. You see it all the time at sporting clubs, the terms drinking culture, gambling culture are often used and its never in positive terms either on or off the pitch.
Hudgell pushed the boundaries for Ben, because as he said he has a lot of time for the boys that got us up. Yet every time he drew a line Ben stepped over it. The last case was his least serious but the accumalatory effect couldn't be ignored.
For me the facebook one was the worst, that could directly effect both our clubs name and its ability to attract fans into the ground. Whether Ben is an out and out racist or just someone with latent (subconcious) racist predujices is now known but if I was an Asian man with a young family I'm not sure I'd be happy taking my kids to watch a club that idolises someone who openly expressed those views.
I've been accused with being 'anti-Ben', I assure you I'm not and would have loved it if non of these incidents had happened, or even if he'd learned after his first one, I liked him as a player, didn;t think he was the Billy Slater a lot made him out to be either but the correct, and only decision has been taken.
