Marty Marsh is 23, Jordan Abdul 20, they have played about the same amount of games, despite being 3 years younger, so I'd doubt he would have played more games if he had gone to Rovers.
Not many if any 20 years olds play regularly SL, Radford has done the right thing easing him in, personally I'd keep him at Hull, but can see the benefit of regularly rugby and playing against lesser opponents.

Marty Marsh maybe 23 but Matty Marsh is 19/20 I believe.

Maybe you can explain the link of how calling one of the Sharks obese fringe players Tubby Lard of The Boulevard leads to claims of disrespecting the old shark enclosure and references to our brief appearance there. I'm lost.

It would have been nice to play against the NRL teams, but they would have beaten us, so I can take it either way, if a game is to happen it should be Wigan v cronulla, champions v champions, your squad is shocking full of very average players suited to the championship, I find it amusing, as I'm sure if it was us, you lot would be raging us like mad.

| Anyone else find it odd that Sio, Mantellato and Tilse have had no mention online as signing for any club next year?
Most clubs will have finished recruiting by now, so could they actually be staying? Sio would be the biggest surprise.

Do you just go around guessing dates to try and make a point in a debate? You 1st stated that Abdul played for Hull when he was 15 when he was actually 17 as he finished the 2012 season in Rovers U16's then for no reason again you've thrown out Marsh birth date as a whole 2yrs older. Their is actually less then a yr between them in fact it's 290 days to be totally accurate.
Abdul made his 1st team debut in 2014 a year before Matty Marsh did in 2015 since then Jordan has gone on to play 8 games more for Hull FC then Marsh has at Rovers.

it's not like me to get facts wrong, but new baby = sleep deprived.
I said a year in the end and was correct, the fact that despite being younger he made his debut a year early which against proves by point that he has been given more a chance at Hull than Rovers.
So far in his career he has been involved in big games including play offs and part of the challenge cup winning squad, also last year when not in the first team, he was playing games for the reserves, what would he have done at Rovers?
I think he has made the right decision, he is OOC for next year, so he has a choice of going on loan or leaving, let's see what he does.

When Hudgell said we wouldn't be signing anyone from Hull i suppose he meant on loan I think if Abdull does come I have a feeling it maybe a permanent deal to me when I've seen him play like against us he was very good but was terrible playing for Fev in the summer bash

| The Abdull situation is a perfect example of the growing problem in SL. Both Warrington & Wigan, due to injury, brought young half backs into their first team squads for extended periods.
In my opinion both players had excellent games when they dictated the play and other matches when they couldn't pick a pass or find touch with a kick.
But the fear of failure and not making the 8 means instead of persevering with these potential stars of tomorrow, it,s back to the under 23's and another second rate Aussie is brought in on an inflated contract.
Until someone is brave enough to buck the trend, this country will struggle to produce home grown half's in numbers we require.

On considering all angles he probably made the best decison at the time. If he was to sign for Rovers and become a 1st team regular over a few seasons then we may revisit this conversation one day. Marsh however was also involved in the same Challenge cup experience for Rovers in 2015 as Abdul in 2016 the difference is you got to the final and won and we got to the final and got thrashed, Actually on thinking about it he may have had more chance of appearing in the final for Rovers in 2015 then he did at Hull this year.

When he was interviewed on humberside a couple of days after the Salford defeat the question was put to him whether he would take players from Hull on loan and he dismissed it but given time to think about it might have changed his mind after all we'd be stupid not to look at all options

Totally agree, it could work out for the best for both clubs and I'd be shocked if you don't sign Lancaster if we release him as rumoured.
Could be a couple of others you could sign if you get injuries like Thompson, Hadley, Fash, Naughton etc.
Even though it's been amusing you going down, long term it's better for the game if you are back up again, hopefully in place of Salford.

| Watched NZ v aus rugby union earlier 2nd half NZ in 2nd half were immense much prefer watching league but played union when younger.watched England v France and wasn't inspired by our lads.got me thinking if it would be worth going for a half back from union as their skillset even at lower level seems superior to English league counterparts.Maybe a veteran or reserve player as a punt?

I have always thought that there are plenty of young players in union that could make the grade in our sport (some of our greatest players have come that way Boston Offia Sullivan ). The problem now is would they come? less money in league, most teams are not in the most sought after areas to live, lower media profile, even if they came & made the grade they would become targets of the union big guns (like Johnathan Davis was) & may go back, I have thought that a few players would have tried league to enhance their profile if constantly over looked for international selection. Still the club should look & try. It costs nothing but time & a bit of petrol money. Another problem is not A team to bed them into our game as there was in my day.

| Naughton is an excellent player and was really unlucky to lose his place at Hull after a really good run of games. His best position is full back but he won't get a look in at Hull with shaul in the squad. Personally I'd keep him over michaels but i reckon Hull will let him go and you could do a lot worse than sign him and give him the 1 shirt next year

Wow...is there a sporting equivalent of beer goggles?
Union is s**t. Ask Sam Burgess how good
Union halves are. They kick penalties & probably have nice hair. When it comes to running, passing, tackling, play making etc even the international ones haven't a clue.
Given a choice between Scott Prince or any Union half-back in the world I'd take Prince by a margin. At least he could do it once.
