Indeed Dave. Rovers have been lucky in that us, Warrington, Bradford and - in the course of the regular season - Wigan all under performed.

It will be interesting to see how they cope next year with a weakened squad.

Lucky in regards to that but also lucky that theyve had the least injuries to key players in SL as well as getting a hell of a lot of 50/50 calls ive seen on tv. (dont tell Justine though)

I've heard some utter tripe spouted during my many years of watching rugby league but yours takes some beating.

The old adage is that league position does not lie , so that would therefore indicate we are top 4.

The next step is to improve on that position and a couple of playoff wins would be nice.

I refrain from being drawn into the back-biting and anti-FC / anti-KR bitching that goes on, on this forum......BUT,

all of you jealous mealy mouthed little weasles who cannot abide that Hull Kingston Rovers have acheived so much in 3 years of SuperLeague...just crawl back under your damp squalid little rocks and worry about your own club's SHOCKING season !!!

How can you say it's luck that 4 sides underperformed? In this case then Huddersfield have been lucky as well, or don't they count?

FC fans may be laughing at Rovers this morning, but just like the stark realisation kicking in when you wake up next to your best mate's mum, in the cold light of day Rovers' season was, by far and away, a damn site better than yours.

What we are witnessing is an out pouring of relief by some of our monochrome neighbours in that on this occasion Hull Kingston Rovers did fall short.

But , it only took us one year for our team to overtake them in SL performance. That is what is grating the Usual Suspects - is the fact that they are second best , and the only pleasure they can take from this season is in the defeat of their loftier neighbours.

Interesting thread really. Alot of things have gone hkr's way since they entered super league but alot of things have been well deserved due to the hard work and backing of the hkr board. Maybe there getting less injuries because of the good work of the conditioning staff and the fact there signing's are younger and dont have bad injury records. The next 2 seasons will be a true test. They'll start having the same problems more established super league sides have with the salary cap.

The league tables don't lie. Expect Rovers to be up there again next season and the seaon after and carry on the progress.

What's that then? A trophy? A playoff win?

I'm sure everyone would be interested at the comparison Hull fc stats during their first three years in S.L. ( albeit a weaker S.L.)

And when will you lot stop rolling the old 'we've only been in SL three years' blah blah blah. Cas have been in SL two years and have achieved just as much. The salary cap is the same for all clubs, as is the quota (except for those granted special dispensation).

A top four side is not something you can claim to be after 1 season of finishing in the top 4.
If that was the case then Salford are top 5 side as they finished fifth in 06 although they finished bottom the year after.

You'd better watch out for Celtic overtaking you next season then.

Yep. A top four side is one that can consistently perform in the high-pressure high-profile games, not one of which you have won since you entered Super league.

You've never won a play-off game and your highest Challenge Cup position was the quarter finals this year when you bottled it again.

If you go on the play-offs rovers finished 6th this year anyway so "NO"

Also superleague has existed for more than 3 years. It's not our fault you weren't good enough to get promoted sooner.
