| Kris Welham has made left centre his own? He's been less than average since his injury.

I'd go further and extend beyond the last 2 years. Even when he scored plenty of tries (on the back of excellent set up play from Dobson & Galea), he was a turnstyle. Had he not been homegrown, the Welham love-in from many of our fans would never have occurred.
I'd start Salter in front of him every time, and young Hallet. If Blair is coming as a centre, that makes Welham about 5th choice.

| With the signing confirmations so far -
1. Mantellato
2. Sio
3. Goulding
4. Cockayne
5. Dixon
6. Blair
7. Kelly
8. Weyman
9. Carlile (for now)
10. Costigan
11. Larroyer
12. Donaldson
13. McCarthy
14. Green
15. Horne
16. Cox
17. Walker
Open to be shot down. A couple of players may need swapping from left to right. Charlie is put in the centres because:
a) it's better to have his enthusiasm on the pitch
b) I reckon Mantellato will be great at fullback
c) He's not as quick as Dixon for the wing slot
Salter is great as cover for centre but others are better than him, and Welham is just plain rubbish.

| Judging by Chris Chesters interview on Humberside it looks like our recruitment is far from finished. Spoke about securing a prop, strike backrower and hooker. Added to the additional half back that he said he wanted last week then perhaps we could have 4 more newcomers shortly.

| Hi all,
I'm the AussieRover from Australia I've always supported Hull KR I don't know why but I just like them. Obvisouly I don't watch very much of the games because I'm here in Australia and we only get televised one game a week here. But from who I know of this could be the lineup
1. Josh "Lollylegs" Mantellato
2. Ken Sio
3. Maurice Blair
4. Ben Cockayne
5. Darrell Goulding
6. Albert Kelly
7.
8. Michael Weyman
9.
10.
11. Neville Costigan
12.
13.
Bench
14.
15.
16.
17.
Mantellato - We call him lollylegs over here but he is probably one of the best players that just couldn't make First Grade is a real sharpshooter and rarely misses conversions
Sio - Strong and Powerful
Kelly - Great signing by KR Gold Coast were once leading the table for a few rounds because of him and he was carving it up until he got injured
Blair - Can also play 5/8 (Stand off) another pretty good signing lacks defence at times but solid for the most part.

So we won't be bothering with Dixon, Donaldson and McCarthy then?

Think you need to understand where aussierover is coming from. He has taken Rovers as his team in the UK. He has only really listed the players he knows.
Welcome to the HKR family AussieRover

| A lot of business is still to be done I reckon, obviously with the unfortunate retirement of Justin Poore we will require another prop at least? Another half, hooker and another second rower.
I wonder if Costigan will turn into a prop next year.
We need an organiser who would also become a viable candidate for the captaincy.
I hope the names mentioned in despatches sign for Rovers, but with everything still up in the air my team is just wishful thinking.

You should take care not to fall down one of your cracks.
For your information it came from someone that holds a particular position within the club , I wont name him as he probably would not thank me for it.
I can only forward what he told me,(note, I also said if true it would leave us with another space to fill)
However, if you would rather me not relay any such information for the attention of such people as your good self, be it be correct or incorrect then fine, I will keep it to myself in future, its no skin off my nose matey, believe me.

| If were getting Lunt in the deal it's not an issue. It took Costigan until half way thru season to do anything even then it was in short bursts. IMO he's replaceable

Well we'd rather you relay information that is FACT to be honest. I could say Thurstons injury is a smokescreen because I'ved heard e's signing for us as a back up 7. Rumour is rumour and ill bet my last pound that anyone "in the know" at Rovers wouldnt tell all to anyone unless they want the sack.

According to the chap who told me it is fact, thats why i decided to forward the information on here, unless he has got it totaly wrong himself, but knowing who it is i would'nt expect him to say it with conviction if there wasn't any truth in it.
I guess we will just have to wait and see what is announced over the coming days and weeks.

| No I'm quite knowledgable about my rugby and do watch a team in defence but the fact is he plays half a game ( on a good day) and offers very little in attack. Great defender I agree tho

| With us only having 3 recognised props at the minute will we see Jordan Cox move to prop? And still think we could do with 2 more with match day squads usually consisting of 4 props, does anybody think we should make a move to try get Scott Taylor back or is there far to much water passed under that bridge? P,s before any fc fans start about him signing for them until it's confirmed I don't believe it

| 2 props needed, one Aussie and a really hungry lad from the championship would be good, Coxy needs to get as fit as he has ever been to start fulfilling his potential, gives us plenty of go forward but only in small stints, his defence needs a lot of work but I hope its his year! If Costigan were to go it would be a blow but as stated earlier it opens up another quota space. Heres hoping for some good news in the upcoming weeks. RRTR

| Well as I'm too lazy to quote everyone's posts, I'll reply here and feel free to quote me back, some really interesting opinions posted lately.
For me "Seventies Red" has never come under the category of talking knackers, shares things, has the ear of someone, posts interesting potential information.
Costigan would be a loss. I watched him intently at last years World Cup. When PNG played NZ at Headingley he was the stand out player. I don't think he's hit those nights for us but his defence, anywhere, whether that be from marker, broken field, one on one or whatever is exceptional. If he goes, it's a loss. Hasn't looked happy in red and white though.
I think Cox is our second best defender after Costigan. He's an old skool leg tackler that needs to first in the contact with someone else wrapping the ball. Moving him to prop would be a waste. He is however to thick to ever be a great player, but we need to have him working within a system that he buys into, and that goes for the whole squad.
Morgan had us constantly exceeding the sum of our parts, that's what good coaches do.
Chester needs to find that.

| I would say Walker and Weyman are way ahead of Coxy in the tackling stakes ? Donaldson may step up into the loose man role, he is allegedly a strong defender if reports are to be believed, i like everyone hope Lunt is announced shortly that would be a really good replacement for the massive void left by Josh!

| Its probably best to hold back on news about this player or that player, something I should have heeded myself in relation to the signing of a No1 '9', but when you receive information from someone who has not let you down before (who wants it to be announced thro a 'puppet' source, which actually has its own form of personal kudos), a track record of spot-on news that goes back ten years, and to be honest a friend, it leaves you both untrusting thereafter and effing foolish. Better to wait for official announcements, something I will do hereafter.
