Sickening behaviour the RL should take action without hesitation. No room for that behaviour in our family sport. The judge who failed to imprison both of the individuals should be stood down with immediate effect. Well done to Cas for acting so swiftly in sacking the other coward.

As previously stated, the club view both Ben's behaviour and the sentance passed by the courts seriously.In particular the club will be giving careful consideration to the comments passed by the honourable judge in sentancing Ben

Seems like a sensible response from Rovers, unlike some posters on here. Thought the statement yesterday from the club was a little wooly and this is much more substantial and informative.

What, saying they're having a meeting amongst themselves before a meeting with Cockayne? As opposed to yesterday's statement that said they were having a meeting with Cockayne? He pleaded guilty last July and there were only really 2 outcomes from a sentencing perspective, jail or no jail. Not that difficult to plan for 2 possible eventualities is it, especially when you've got 8 months to do so?

I just watched it , he belongs in a zoo. Im a Hull fan but dont care who he plays for, if anyone else does anything comparable to this then I'd say the same. He should never play again... end off.

A few points from me:

1) I'm absolutely disgusted at Ben Cockayne.

2) Some of my fellow Rovers fans with their pathetic efforts of playing down the offence (in one way or another) by writing such trype as "my daughter says she sees fights like that in the playground" are absolutely deplorable.

3) It's noticable that the FC fans who want convict Crocker in the country have a different opinion in this case regardless of knowing the full facts of either case.

3) I would support an RFL rule to take action against thugs in the future from a certain date, though not retrospectively because all punishment should be consistent.

4) From a club point of view, I don't see why Rovers should take the morale high-ground when no other club has so far and in another case, another club actually gave character references despite the player concerned being a repeat offender (i.e. Raynor).

5) Castleford Tigers stance of sacking their young player is hypocriticial considering they had agreed terms with Cockayne before Rovers upped their offer.

If Rovers sack Cockayne then fair play to them. If they don't then fair play to them. I'm just really miffed about the whole episode itself and certain types of responses from both Rovers and Hull fans.

Not at all, it's quite pathetic considering your club has a history or helping it's players evade prison sentences for violent offences and also trying to bring another thug in the country...

No sentiment, just looking at the bigger picture. That cctv footage shows a small part of what happened that night. The judge was privy to that, most of us weren't. I've said I don't condone what he did and he deserves punishment, the judge has handed him what he considers a suitable punishment, after long consideration. Time for everyone to move on now I think.
