There is not a chance you will take a beasting next week. For once, I think some of the injury exaggerations is really not exaggerated. It does look pretty bleak from our perspective.

I think our lads have shown a lot of heart and try their best. But we’re short on quality, power and composure. And we’ll be missing a few ourselves including, crucially, two of the four who’d get in most SL starting 17s (imo - Lunt and Carney, the others being McGuire (possibly still a doubt) and Masoe; honourable mention to Mulhern).

Last year was different, but at this level the disasterous has become routine. I rocked up again just in time for the fairytale years, so I can’t complain. But my expectation this year is now that against anybody but Widnes (who are in a similar position, but heading in a worse direction) or a team in a real slump (e.g. Hudds and Catalans) we’ll be well beaten on bad day and find a way to shoot ourselves in the foot on a good day. Whether your injuries will reduce you to the current level of Hudds or Catalans, I dunno. But i’m sure Radford will send out a team that is bigger than ours and has a bloody-minded determination to win. Remember, you not only beat us with playing with 12 for the large majority of the last derby, you outscored us after the sending off and the result only ever looked in doubt briefly.

Maybe we’ll beat Wigan today, and i’ll look daft. I very much hope so. But right now, i’d snap your hand off for us getting within 20 and nobody getting an injury that rules them out into the middle 8s.

Looks like we have lost another few for next week... Mulhearn(in my opinion our best forward) possibly for the season, Greenwood-concussion, Masoe-ankle, Tickle-red card and a ban coming.
I have now lost count how many will possibly not be available, but of course FC are DECIMATED by injuries, as per the HDM, and obviously they will have to play the lady that makes the tea, some ball boys, the turnstile operators,and some supporters to put out a team,but I don,t believe it,and it doesn't matter anyway because according to some of their "knowledgeable" fans(including a deluded friend) it wont matter next week because all our players are rubbish anyway.
But seriously, I wish all the injured players Rovers and FC a swift recovery, and hope that we hammer the black and white ****

Your right mulhearns is an ACL and if the scan is as bad as the early diagnosis,its a season ender.The rugby league gods dont like us.

When Mulhern came along as a loan signing at the fag end of 2016 he was awful.

He's an argument for P&R, he learnt his craft in The Championship last year and was fantastic.

Gutted for him.

Skybet have us at 2/1 and Hull at 2/5, with the draw at 20/1, making us the second longest shot of the weekend, after Widnes who are right out there at 13/2 vs Saints.

I don’t doubt Hull will remain pretty firm favourites, but those odds could easily move as the week progresses.

While i’m aware of the (admittedly self-parodying and absurdist) attempts by some B&W posters to forge an alternative narrative by worst casing the availability of your players, and downplaying our problems, to frame what will likely be another routine victory as something exciting and novel, unfortunately from our perspective, it is bull dung.

As i have turned over a new leaf/got bored posting drivel my post was a genuine one , i don,think there is ever a favourite in the Hull derbies as it means so much to both sides . The fixture no matter how well / bad / injured or healthy we are is most likely to spring a surprise is the dreaded derby . No excuses from me when we play your lot as the best team on the day wins , hopefully without the idiot officials making the headlines.

unfortunately you got bored long after we did with your garbage , but we will see if you have bipolar or not I suppose over the course of time,but agree with your sensible post,supporting a club is for life not just a game,a bit of banter is still healthy though.

Tbf I think the reason we have had more attention is because we have been absolutely hammered very quickly. Your injuries have accumulated slowly. Guys like Addy being injured pre season sadly get forgotten about. Whereas we have gone from pretty much a full strength team to recalling 19 year olds from loans and considering bringing guys out of retirement in the space of 2 weeks. Its going to generate more headlines and attention.

In reality both sides will have similar standard teams (relative to what their best 17s would be) on the field and there could be 20 players unavailable.

I arent one of the ones that is playing up our injuries for effect. We should win (although I wasnt expecting to quite so short with the bookies) but the players missing does make it more of a lottery. We saw in pre season that outside of the main players our squads arent that far apart.

I think the reason your so short with the bookies is although you have a lot of injuries the possible team line ups been shown you still have a decent side just shows your strength in depth really

Hulls real issue is at half back. With 4 halfs potentially out (tuimavave in with a chance I think) I just don't see where our tries will come from plus well have 2 makeshift wingers and a makeshift centre.

Rovers seem to have a bigger squad of more even quality whereas our first choice 17 or so is good but beyond that it's mainly young players and the drop off in quality probably isn't as big for you as it is for us.

I think the bookies just look at league position and form. The odds may change when the squads are announced
