The photoshoot could and should have waited. And if the private account of his career in finance was no more detailed than the public one, it should have been possible to probe a bit more deeply without being impolite.

The rest - well, with hindsight you wouldn't bother, but much as I found him unconvincing I can't say I'd have done it very differently or would want Rovers to with any future potential investor.

cant blame rovers for looking at the guy,but it was known from the first that this bloke was iffy to say the least, i think it was case of looking at him through rose tinted glasses from rovers, could there have done better about courting him, hindsight is a great thing,

I am not sure Larvins reputation is really damaged tbh, he can always say that he was/is genuine and has/had the fund (who knows the dosh may materialize eventually). If I am really honest I do not think he would have gone to these lengths just for a bit of attention I think he may have the dosh but it is proving more difficult than he anticipated getting hold of them. As far as damaging reputation is concerned Larvin is no novice in this area so I doubt he will be too bothered.

He gave some pretty categorical assurances and was fairly robust with doubters. If we're viewing it as a trade, for the sake of whimsy, he earned his chocolate cheesecake.

Hudge and co are SO desperate to get out that they entertained this travelling salesman for FAR TOO long.

I ran my own business in the UK and if he had approached me ( for e.g. if he had worked with me 20 years ago) and promised riches beyond my dreams then I would have entertained him for about 2 hours.

My wife would have immediately said ' where is his cash ? have you proof ? before we go buying Moet !'

IF I was desperate he may have got a week out of me before I would have said ' Thanks but no Thanks ' based on realisation he didn't have the cash

The reason he was given access that he should never had is based on a desperate need for a bailout

Why else was a seemingly 'crazy' investor given so much creedance and time ?
