| Quote ="R.B.A"I think that Bell is going to be a star but do we really want him making his debut away from home against an in form Castleford team and up against the wily Danny Orr? Not withstanding the fact that he will be playing behind a pack that seems have have forgotten how to go forward.
Morgan will stick with Murrell because he trusts him to do the job after the way he stepped into the half back role last season.'"
When does he get his chance then? apart from the next ten weeks Dobbo is likely to play every minute of every match, as will Green, and will never be rested. Would we want to play him at home against a wily Jarrod Sammut / Michael Witt, or away against Salford with a wily Daniel Holdsworth. Give him a go, if he's good enough he'll show some signs of improvement. With Scotty at 13 and Galea in the back row he'll get enough help and if it gets tough they'll be able to move up and take some of the weight off.
Personally think if he doesn't get his chance now he never will and will afirm that Morgan wont let a young player ever have a pivotal position.

| According to the HDM scotty is going to be at 7 and green at 6, so maybe our big players ie Vella and Clinton, galea need to step up a gear and support the backs, what about when webbo comes back drop colbon and put hall on the wing, I do think it's the right thing to do in operating now as more damage could have Been done the more weeks he would have played. Scotty needs to up his kicking game as we all know he is more than capable of this.

Bell was playing still playing under-18s last year, wasn't he? If he is amongst the best 17 players available, then I'm confident Morgan will pick him. The coaches see him train regularly - they'll know how close he is. I [uwant[/u him to be ready, but if he isn't yet that isn't a reflection on the club's overall commitment to developing players.

My one worry about Morgan is his seemingly lack of trust he puts in the younger players to play pivotal positions. We saw a couple of years ago when Briscoe was injured and he drafted in Haynes (i think it was). the kid was being touted as an exceptional FB in the U20's, so JM played him on the wing and moved our then winger (fitzy) to FB. It was a disaster and the kid got hung out to dry. Why we felt the need to blood the kids out of position on the wing is beyond me. Even seasoned pro's (briscoe) look terrible when played out of position. So if the lads are to get a go give them the most chance and play them in their preferred position.
The one thing about SH is that defence isn;t a big issue, most SH are the weak link in defence so all he'll have to concentrate on is his attack, if the pack muscle up againts a smallish cas pack he could show us what he's about. Must be worth a try cos scotty isn;t a 7 as long as he's got a hole in his ar5e.

When was the last time Saints paid a fee? All their spare cash is going into a new stadium, no way would they stump up a sizeable wedge this season. They will cover Eastmond from their excellent Jr ranks.

I would have thought Dobbo's next move will be back to oz, moving within SL would seem a bit pointless unless he was going to a club likely to challenge for honours in the near furture. Everyone knows Saints are starting there downward spiral as all there true talent is nearing retirement age and their only real prospect is off to RU. Reckon if wigan called he'd have his head turned but no one else.

Warrington or Leeds may also interest him if he wants silverware.

Suspended for two after a dodgy tackle on Riley at your gaff. Therefore you'll need to sub him out of your fantasy team for at least another week.

Might find a niche somewhere in the 3/4s at least while Dobson is out, as a goal-kicker?
Came out of Sunday with more credit than most, it sounds like.

Yeah he did well made at least two, maybe three very good defensive plays that involved making good decisions and wrapping man and ball and a couple of astute passes. Unfortunately Fox seems to have decided to jam in on a lot of plays and was badly out of position. He never got a chance of running in broken field, but that can wait for the pitches to firm up.
He did kick well and if iirc whilst over on the wrong side of The Chocolate River's Tributary and got a chance used to over there too.
I'd personally like to see Welham to right centre, Hall to left with Webster moving out to the wing in place of Colbon who just seems to be lacking confidence since breaking his jaw, even his kick returns aren't what they were.
I'd like to see Bell start at scrum half but with him being spelled through a combination of Murrell moving there and Cockayne spelling Hodgson and Murrell. Cockayne put in good big minutes on Sunday, he'd been off about two minutes on Sunday before Murrell took a knock and then he came straight back on. I like Hodgson a lot but at the moment he doesn't seem to have the concentration yet to play as many minutes as we're asking him to.
That's an awful lot of tinkering to say it's only round four, I wouldn't necessarily do all of it, just wanging ideas out willy nilly.
As others have alluded to our major problem (more so than missing Dobson on Sunday for sure) was our inept performance in the front row. Wheldon has been our best prop, and has played well, I don't want to be detrimental towards him, but at fifth in the pecking order that really shouldn't be so. Vella was good in Cardiff but Clinton has been non existent so far and that's not acceptable from the guy who should be leading the line.

| That is it. First I tell everyone my internet connection is gash and NickHKR takes me to the cleaners for not watching Hull KR TV properly, then Mild Rover exacts his been/being revenge, after that Barton Baird (black and white get who never writes any poetry to substantiate his name) joins in and now ruddy Ranga's giving it out.
I'm self censoring myself for the rest of the evening.

| Does anyone know whether Dobson carried this injury into the season and has been allowed to play on and now break down? Sounds like it in the HDM by Green's comments:
"It's going to be difficult losing a player like Michael as it would be if you took Darren Lockyer out of the Brisbane team. The little bugger has been toughing it out playing injured for a while. I'm just glad he has gone in and got it sorted now." Before this turns into an FC slagoffathon, I recognise that FC have a rubbish record on this sort of thing, but would be surprised if Rovers had let their most important player risk getting crocked.
