I think the club's statements have been pretty clear. Although I have seen interpretations dramatically at variance with my own, in fairness. To me they read as:



1. We've had talks but not seen any money.

2. We've still not seen any money and if we don't soon, we'll draw a line under it.

3. We never saw any money and have now drawn a line under it.



Now, as ever, anything is [ipossible[/i, but the above combined with the vague and unverifiable information about how he made his fortune, makes it seem highly unlikely to me. Until now, IMO, it was reasonable enough to hope against hope, but after that last statement I think it is approaching willful self-delusion territory.

Unreal , I said from the 1st second I heard about it that it was a spoof . NOBODY makes £15m on investments and then says lets spend it all on a loss making purchase at a club I have had NO association with for 20 years LOL



Oh yeah , did I even suggest he actually made any cash ? He has no cash ! There just maybe someone in the background awaiting the Siemens nod ???

There isn't any.., its just straw grasping by people engaging in "willful self-delusion" as MR so eloquently put it..



Seems even the odd Hull fan is not grasping the mettle of what sort of person is involved here..there are no sub-motives, no devious investment plan, nothing...in a few months time even the hardiest and tiniest believers will wonder what they were thinking..

I like to think i am a fairly level headed guy, but must admit that a little part of me thinks that we have not heard the last of this long drawn out saga.

In the meantime i think the coach and the players need to step up to the plate and start performing in the first 40 minutes of games,so that we as fans can be realistically interested in the second 40 minutes of games.

Winding up aside I think that your chairman, whom I don`t have the time of day for, has conducted himself in an exemplary manner through these delusions of grandeur by Larvin,with whom I have been associated with years ago through rugby and soccer. Hudgell has shown himself to be a credit to your little club and he deserves a pat on the back. Can I get back to the winding up now?

As a Rovers' fan i may be biased but i just can't see why anyone would have such a dislike for Hudge! unless it's personal of course....

For some ... Hudgell is the Antichrist and will spend every waking minute plotting against Hull FC and its fans. He will not ever pass up an opportunity to fire a shot at them. Always will try and get one over Hull whatever it takes, and for these reasons they actually (appear in many cases) hate him for it.



Of course during Hudgell's time, he has had to deal with the previous regime @ Hull. The same regime Hull fans seem to have very few positive words about. I'm sure the fractious relationship the two clubs shared during these years, was probably a reason Hudgell liked to take pop shots at Hull. But, despite the common ground they both share towards the Kath era, Hudge was and still is the problem.



The Cooke saga and the cabbage patch remark are obvious flashpoints. I'm sure there's more and maybe other reasons too.

Thread drift aside. Whether or not Larvin is an egotistical nutcase or just a piece in the financial jigsaw - he's biggest mistake was going public and saying things which clearly haven't materialised. (fools rush in)

Right here goes.



Having been privy to our potential investors 'business activities' for over a year and knowing he was wanted for questioning in Spain and had spent time on remand I decided to join this forum to post my concerns when the trouser wetting news of his potential investment was made public.



People should not be castigated for wishing that Rovers were being offered financial investment (we know we needed it). However sport is riddled with 'investors' who promise all sorts and are greeted as the new messiah only to leave the institution on its death bed (see Birmingham City, Portsmouth, L##ds Utd etc).

In future if anyone promises you things too good to be true they are usually not! Particularly if that person has a very dubious background.



The club have hanndled this very well given the nature of the approach made to them.



My experience on here was to be expected when i started posting-abuse, claims I was a FC fan etc etc. i apologise to the mods for any discomfort I caused. Thanks to Mrs B who warned you all too and has not gloated at the rank gullability of some on here. Sandra has approached this subject with her usual sense too.



Special mention to PAC for the best volte face I have ever seen. From threatening everyone who posted anything negative about the potential investor. He should copy right 'screen shot taken and passed on'-priceless. Now he's his arch enemy ridiculing anyone who believed him!



The worst comment about all this was from Paul H/Slammer who suggested Neil Hudgell step aside for a rest! he may not be everyones cup of tea but without him there would probably be no Rovers (Neil not Slammer)



Good luck Mild Rover with making this forum more palitable than the usual 'dick measuring contest' each thread seems to become.
