He seems pretty good at promoting his reputation, and business acumen. But I'm at a loss of what he actually does at Rovers. Could you tell me??

| That was awful at home against the Catalans 0 40
Why have we got the smallest squad in the league
We made a few quid last year
Our recruitment is poor the CEO Smith has been quiet these last months.
I know that without Hudgell and Crossland we would be finished financially
Where do we go from here. Don't say down to the coast I fear
We celebrate our tenth year in the league
Catalan have been in eleven
I remember playing them in the cup when they were UTC before promotion

I would actually try and get Livegrove back. Not perfect but a damn sight better and cheaper than Tilse. Sandercock was the reason he left.

Sorry but that 2006 side wouldn't beat the current side as good as that QF win was we got thumped in the semi and the problem with overseas signings now is not that many top class players come over and when they do they don't want to play for a bottom four club so you either take a chance ie campese and hope it comes off or take a chance on a young player from the Queensland cup

That 2006 side lost the semi without Webster, the always impressive Michael Smith, and a lot of other influential players. Don't kid yourself, that side would give out team right now one hell of a game.
We've payed top money for our overseas players, I don't get why some fans see it 'ok' that we are where we are right now. It's a bloody disgrace to me!

Erm, we lost that game.
A player we should have tried to sign, Jamal Fakir destroyed us.

None of us are happy, I just don't see what's to be achieved by being the most outraged.
If what you're saying is that those early teams, the Morgan teams, were more than the sum of those parts then I agree.
We were an over performing team then, and that's why you have a coach and that's what their job is.
Currently, we are an under performing team, but we're a club, not a team (there needs to be a distinction between club and team) that's trying to retain our top flight status whilst hopefully becoming more sustainable, and so we're told that there is a plan.
It might be nice if they told us what the plan is whilst we all shell out for season ticket's.
Many of us have expressed that we couldn't understand why we didn't go out and get a strike back rower and a nasty prop. We all put that down to Chester's recruitment objectives, but he's gone and we're none the wiser as to why that didn't happen or why we're not in the loan market.
I am aware that I've stepped on both sides of the line, it was entirely intentional.

After the pay off we won't be able to sign anyone as to just "get rid" mid season would cost a fortune and it would all come off the cap. So, back in the real world Tilse is staying and after all, he really isn't as bad as some make out. I await the stats being published to show this.

When you say "cheaper" does that include the transfer fee as well as the pay off to get rid of Tilse?

Possibly. He's playing for Bradford at the mo. I notice you didn't dispute that he is better than Tilse. My son calls Tilse the BFG because of his lack of aggression.

| I have read the posts on last nights game and some of the comments are reasonable points. Yes they tried, yes trying is not enough, but let's be honest about the comment no squad rotation who where you going to rotate the following players are out injured
Shaw
Mantelato
Horne
Salter
Campesie
Kelly
Larroyer
Donaldson
Boudebza
So with those players missing who else is there to put in NO ONE
We do not have a big squad or in fact a good enough squad to compete with the best and to hold the Dragons to 12 points in the second half took guts
If Mantelato had been on the wing instead of Dixon who is just not good enough, not big enough or brave enough in defence then with just one of the nine missing it could have been a different game IF and there is that word again half of those missing were fit it would have been a different game
It is going to be a hard remaining end to the season but if Rovers get all the nine fit I believe we will be in Superleague next year but unless they improve the squad depth it will be same same as money is the problem as there is not enough of it at the club

I know where he's playing, just signed a 2 year deal hence the transfer fee comment. Lovegrove is playing Championship level RL for a reason.

That's the point I was making 3 really hard games in 7 days with no chance of squad rotation we just hit the wall last night but you can't say this because apparently your just making excuses but at least we have a cup game on Saturday that will be a stroll before we have to go back to SL games

| With the new relationship with Hull FC why isn't Jamie or Neil knocking on Adams door asking for help? Rich Whiting could do a job for you along at least 5 or 6 of our other squad players

Wasn't it the same team that won at Leeds last week, apart from a twenty minute spell from Campese?

I also heard a quote from Leeds chairman " they are stuck with what they have as like most clubs they are spending up to their limit" Even if we had cash to splash there are just not the calibre of player we need at a price we can pay, our only chance for the future is to find develop & keep our own players, I would even be looking at lower league union forwards as there are some fit lads out there who lack the sheer size to make it but are better suited to league.

| Last week was a massive high. This week, massive low. That's sport, and in particular that's us. It's the hope that kills you.
Catalans bossed the game and each player pretty much owned each match up every time. I don't really buy into the excuses as reasons for the outcome. Catalans would've had every reason to use their Sat>Thurs and travelling as a valid reason for not performing. As it was, they turned up and dominated from 40-20 onwards. Credit to them. Big statement.
For us - it was bad, no escaping that, but there's also no point feeling sorry for ourselves now. It's time to dust ourselves down and go again for Oldham and then Cas away. I thought Moran showed some positives when he came on. Wouldn't mind maybe seeing Wardill or Oakes getting a game next week if the situation allows.

You couldn't have been predicting grand finals for Catalan after the 10 -38 result against Hull, surely.
