There are the same number of sections either side of the central bit and it seems fairly safe (I think) to assume they are the same size. So the stand is even. However, drawing lines along the pitch along the touchlines and through the metre markings to an approximate vanishing point and then back from there to the middle of the posts, it does look like posts and stand are slightly offset (I've shortened the lines again for simplicity).
That's ten minutes I won't get back.

Given how much of a struggle it has been to get it off the ground and that the ('symmetrical') alternative would be a smaller stand, I could learn to live with it I'm sure.

Momentum rule! Your not taking into account how fast the stand is running. The pitch markings are irrelevant.

Font... you are right... the Pitch is not central as it is closer to the east stand than the west stand..

If memory serves... this was when the pitch was relaid after the Speedway had finished and they widened and lengthened the pitch so we could gain entry to super league...

West stand edge is in the same place .... just the east stand edge that`s closer to the stand, which throws the symetry of the ground out somewhat.

this will give an idea of how much bigger and wider the pitch is now... Enjoy the memories

You cant beieve looking at those photos, then comparing them with the ground as it is now, that people are still finding shizzle to complain about.

Still looks wonky to me, and I think the far end is further away from the dead ball line than the near end.

Due to perspective your far end cyan line is well out!... take the black and white googles off and have another stab...

It might be slightly out, but that is due more to the short length visible and general clumsiness.

Draw a line from just in front of the very middle of the 'middle bit', to the point on the tryline equidistant from the two posts. Looks weird, right?

Until somebody stands directly in front of the posts and takes a piccie, we won't know for sure. And from down there the boards will probably be in the way, so that's a rubbish idea.

Anyway, having to enlarge the pitch by extending it only westward when the track went makes sense, so it seems plausible.

The important thing to remember is that it doesn't matter that much. It really doesn't.
