I think we will run with a squad of no more than 32 next year.

If they bring back licencing then there's no real rush for you to bin your current squad unless hudgell wants to be competitive with the top teams from the off.

As a minimum you need at least 2 decent back rowers, a half back and a full back plus cover for lunt and a couple of outside backs

The fact that in the qualifiers, your home games, you only beat Halifax by 4 points, and London by 5. You need a BIG clear out pre-season, or else it's championship rugby again in 2019

last year I pointed out on your forum that we went down with +100 points difference and you went up with +35 points difference and got told its the league points that matter not points difference , personel can only be changed or added to according to finances ,if we are in the middle 8s next year we will have a lot better team than this I feel, its up to the superleague clubs to not muck up with their finance advantage in this mini comp

It's winning matches that is important Budgie not points for or against. I bet if you compare the points for us and your team in the middle eights there will be very little difference. Where there is a big difference is in the standings we have 10 points you have 4. That is what matters.

We are second you are fifth. We are promoted, you are in danger of relegation.

I'm sure Tim Sheens is very aware of where we need to improve the squad but I'm certain there will not be a big clear out.

Don't know what team we'll put out on Friday but hopefully it will be another win. That would help your cause a little.

The squad of 2017 know they have achieved a remarkable feat and they know the consequences of this. Many are signed on for 2018, some are deliberating over contract offers, and others are currently in limbo. We need to pause here over how we dispose of or down-grade players on this thread. Let’s not follow the trend of wielding the hatchet. Let us admire and praise each and every one; from those with the smallest contribution to the stalwarts of the squad. They deserve our continued support.

Off course all your posts are insightful and add to the discussion in a meaningful way.

WELL SAID and I agree with what you have said every player did count at 1 stage or another in the season

I think we need an injection of quality rather than quantity. I think the difference between HKR 2017 and Leigh 2016 is that we are a relatively young squad that will get better. Leigh tended to rely on older experience to get up and I think this coupled with a lack of depth has bitten you on the backside a bit this year.

Don't get me wrong, next year will be tough, but wholesale changes aren't the way to go.

Not a chance, hes retiring as he has broken his arm again, the same arm he has broken twice before and has pins in. Think we got good value out of him in his time here.
