Depends on who goes. If Walker, Webster, Galea, Mills plus the Cooke savings are the ones not to be renewed, then I suspect we could afford him along with two others, but I doubt he will be here next season.

The Lima/Finch double signing has been referenced multiple times this week on the HDM comments section, how much more reliable a source do you need?

Hudgell will definitely not announce anything before the end of the season, his position on "early" announcements of signings (made after FC announced O'Meley and Fitzgibbon in mid-season last year, coincidentally) is far too categorical for that:
'Knowledgeable fans are not fooled nor should they be by promises of big names around the corner.This competition should be about here and now and not next season. Anything less is selling those supporters short in my view"

I have said many times, I believe we have signed a player when NH or someone 'official' at Hull KR say ' we are pleased to announce the signing of............'

We may very well not bring anymore overseas players - Galea and Webster would both have to make way, for a start.

With a new, big TV deal in the offing for the NRL and the pound-Aus$ exchange rate the way it is, getting good Aussies at a reasonable rate is going to be much tougher. Economics might make the quota irrelevant - and see more of the top British players pursuing their careers down under. Interesting times ahead.

What I think of it is irrelevant. The fact is that if Rovers, having a disappointing season in comparison to last year, were to announce any signings early, it would be absolutely unbelievable hypocrisy.

Since you ask, however, I disagree with his statement. Deals were done already, why not announce them? I also don't feel that I've been sold short by the signings of O'Meley or Fitzgibbon.

If and when it happens you can have your moment in the sun. I might even play semantics with you - there is always room for retrospective interpretation.


If it were a genuinely impressive signing, that would offer some consolation for having such a [iperfidious[/i chairmen.

I'd be disappointed if we announced a 'big name' signing for next year now. I agree with Hudgells point, it is selling the supporters short and also the players who are negotiating new contracts etc. We are still only half way through this season and a lot can happen between now and October.

As a management team they should be looking at how they get some form out of the team we have currently, aim for as high a league spot as possible and a run in the play offs. The only signings we should be announcing are current player extensions and any one new coming into the squad now.
