Miller did a couple of good things but he looks extremely light-weight and will be an easy target for left-edge attackers to run at.

I know it's early days for Holdsworth/Miller but FC fans should be worried about their lack of authority in pushing their team around the park and commanding the ball. I remember one instance where a someone on their left-edge kicked the ball on the 5th tackle- disregarding their half-backs - can you imagine any of the Rovers players doing the same and ignoring Dobson and Burns??? - they'd do their nut. But I suppose FC have to go with what they can get.

Half the FC players look like they've got anorexia - don't they lift any weights??

Obviously a massive loss for the club but we've already learned the hard way paying the likes of Vella and co 150K a season is a false economy because it restricts your capability of creating an environment of where you can create real and genuine depth in a squad because you have players coming primarily for the money and the younger players at the lower end of the squad playing for pittance - something Sandercock addressed as a main area for concern once he discovered the way Morgan had structured his wages towards the top and bottom of the squad.

The name of the game in a salary cap sport is signing (and retaining) [uthe best players for the least money[/u hence why the top clubs are where they are. Kevin Sinfield said a couple of seasons ago that many of the Leeds squad had turned their back on offers of more money at other clubs to stay at Leeds because they wanted to have a genuine chance to win silverware; an environment you can only create by developing your own players so they are prepared to stay at the same club for 10 years or so to enable continuity and thus a low player turn over.

Back on to Paea, one thing I did notice about Paea this year though, is that his best form was very dependent on which hooker was distributing the ball to him i.e. the Hodgson/Paea combo worked best and he did not seem to attain the same performances when Carlile was at dummy-half (no disrespect to Keal) and considering Houghton is one of the most overrated, one trick pony and one dimensional hookers in SL, I'm not convinced Paea will hit the same heights he did whilst playing for us. Besides, your pack gets bullied that easily the pressure on him will be immense.
