| Rhys "the beast" was immense. However I thought both our backrowers were pretty poor. Newton combined some strong runs with some slack defence and a ridiculous offload that could have cost us. Special mention for Chev Walker to, who impressed me.

| However, the fact that you have no doubt does not make it so. Cordoba was 'very ordinary', yet you compare him to Cusack, the player for whom the expression 'very ordinary' was invented.

Thought Lovegrove was outstanding in your forwards, but Galea looks exhausted. Unrecognisable from that stunning performance at Murrayfield.

Lets agree to disagree.
Rovers have been beaten many times this season WITH their hooking rotation so to say they would have beaten [iany[/i Hull side had they had that yesterday is a work of pure fiction.

Cusack though no world beater, is infinately better than Cordoba.

Agar got his tactics almost spot on yesterday but didn't really have the players to execute them properly. They rightly spotted Welham,Newton and Webster in defence and their short kicking game was outstanding. with ball in hand they always looked like they could break Rovers down. The 'forward' pass was a massive get out of jail card for Rovers, and I would/will be gutted when something similar happens to Rovers. Remember though that Hull scored one of their tries off the back of a strip that Newton recovered. We had the better of the ref's decisions, no doubt - but it wasn't all one way for 80 minutes.
I knew sticking up for Thaler would pay dividends one day.

Couldn't agree more. The one bright side to Briers golden point is we get a much needed week of.

Deary me. Do you really believe that or are you just trying to justify another poor performance from the great east hull pretenders?

Very good assessment, although I'm not sure about the bit where you've put agar and tactics in the same sentence

Credit where its due Jake. Agar nearly pulled off what would have possibly been his best result as a head coach and i thought his tactics were excellent.

If both teams were at full strength and played there best game rovers would win every time,we are better than them now.Thats the long and short of it though the wessie's dont like it we are now the power in hull.

| Newton was very average to say the least. He has been strolling around like a superstar since he got his 4 year deal. i can completely see why the bloke has never played internationals or state of origin , not at that level.
Lovegrove has loads of potential as a forward and has really put the effort in this season. i thought he was lacking last season but fair play to the man, he looks good every time i see him now. Would think Rovers are trying to find a way to keep him.
Must say thought Hull had the best player on the park though in Berrigan , the bloke is outstanding and showed Rovers scrum half how to control a game.

Playing with 2 injuries at the moment.

TBF Rob there is no need to be playing him with injuries. There are other options and there is a tough, physical battle at Cas to come before the break.

Funny how the reserves and academy are doing so well, yet no one is deemed worthy of a call-up.

The truth of the matter is that Rovers shell out cash for a contract with a genuine, world class chiropractor and FC chose to do without but don't let facts get in the way of your drivel Mrs B.

| The comments on here about Newton would probably fit perfectly for Ben Galea. Am I missing something here?
Newton has been strolling round the park??? So what about that ankle tap he did after Webster got the runaround? What about the offload that created the opening for Webster for him to throw the ball in touch (although, Colbon had over-run it slightly)
Newton took the ball up solidly all night and only made one major error (the offload which Hull snapped up) and, like I've said, a Hull Fc hand was in there too.
Ben Galea?? He looked like a Man of Steel, now he looks like an average Aussie. He was 'terrible', and looks like he's playing silly bugg ers regarding the contract. Some of the knock-ons he made were ridiculous, that knock-on from Cooke's perfect pass was unbelievable - it was on a plate.
Newton has been awesome all year, I cannot believe the criticism levelled at him from here.

Great response, how exactly was he terrible though - Galea fair enough!
I agree with you regarding Agar's tactics, which worked well as it seemed they played down Webster's side on his tackling. Also, sticking more than one man when tackling Newton and Webster to try and stifle them.
