Spot on Nick, we get hardly any value whatsoever from the clubs biggest earners, Morgans mis-use and mis-management of the salary cap and failure to look more than a season ahead is going to haunt us for a while yet..,

..and Jason Netherton is a super squad member to have , gives massive value to the pound....not an attacking force by any means but if the rest could tackle as well as him we would certainly not be in the bottom 4..

Well I said Netherton = Dowes apart from Dowes has more than twice as many tackle busts in the same number of games. Lazzer said this difference was reflected in their repective salaries. It's hard to be that great prop in the rovers squad, Mason in his first game was seen running from deep, making dummy runs and offloads, great, we all thought. Didn't do it again, like he'd been told not to.

Joel Clinton, when he runs from deep he doesn't give an inch and often comes off worse, there's a great vid on that video sharing website of him 'kocking himself out', he got injured last week doing same thing, bad to see the injury but good to see the effort. But Larry had already read my stats link, which showed a 9:4 ratio in Dowes favour and commented that the contracts reflected the differential.

Fitzy doesn't deserve to be in that group, he was a good grafter and got better the longer his spell here went on. Cetainly a better hooker than we have now!

Yeah, + maybe Anthony Seibold? (or that could have been the year before). Oh and Dale Holdstock and Matt Calland IIRC. Remember been so optimistic at the start of 2004 with all these names + the 'Dream Team' of Mal Reilly and Martin Hall, how wrong I was! Tbf I still feel that Harvey Howard did a better job then he gets credit for when you look at the players he brought in (James Webster, Michael Smith, Byron Ford, Jon Steel etc). Sounds like he made mistakes off the pitch, but on it as a team we weren't actually that bad under him IIRC (considering the stick he got).

Oh yeah forgot those.



Remember Paul Eastwood getting lot of criticism too, although I didn't think he did a bad job on the wing for us, though I was only about 12 IIRC.
