| I think if you add the word Influencial to the title it may be more accurate. Dobson is the best but Webster was certainly more important.

And that argument couldn't be applied to Dobson could it? Oh no!

| Dane Dorahy anyone? In fact, sod it, I'm going for Latham Tawhai!
FWIW on the Dobson/Webster thing, during our first season in Super League, I don't think we won a game when Webster didn't play did we?
Both are superb players but the KR side fell apart without Webster in it. For example, remember the NRC cup final against Leigh?
In a couple of years time I think my answer would be different, but Webster was our captain, coach (and an unbeaten one at that), leader, talisman, playmaker and he proved he could play at SL level. So in my team I would have Webster

Really? He hasn't shown it yet then. At least Mansson looked like he could be d most of the time. Managed to contribute with the odd try as well

todd carney was in front of him at the raiders. due to it being the mid season very few if any clubs would have been able to offer him a contract near what sl clubs would have.
imo dobson would have been able to get a nrl starting spot with a few clubs this season.

Which is exactly my point.
There was a poster making the argument that because Paramatta let Webster go, Webster wasn't that good. You could use that argument for anyone.

| totally disagree how this is going im affraid, this is a "dream team" which means the best all round player for the position - Webster was a great leader - but skill wise Dobson walks all over him and would p1ss all over him on the park.

im looking at it as the player who has made the greatest contribution in that time, and for that, Webster es all over dobson, to quote you.

| Webster was here alot long then Dobson has been so of course his contribution is better, he helped us greatly in getting us back where we belong. But Dobson could play in a side and win the SL, i doubt that Webbo could ever do that.
Suppose its how you look apon it - me personally i just put them both into there prime years and wonder who would look the better player - and came up with Dobson.

| If you're picking a team to represent the whole decade, it is going to have a bit of a mix and match look to it - it has been a mixed decade. Best is basically the 2008-9 squads, the most important the 2006-7 squads.

| as a black n white who takes my daughter to your games occasionally(a junior robin on the wifes side),over the past ten years webster has been your most influential 7(cup final, promotion & a successful stint at caretaker coach),but dobson is the better player.if he wasnt morgan wouldnt have been so quick to release webster. (coz coaches dont release pivotal players without a replacment within grasp)
incidently, who would you rate your best ever 7, seen as that in his book millward always considered himself a 6.

Scott Thorburn In all seriousness, I think he had potential tobe a very good player. Remember on his debut him kicking a 40/20 (or putting in a booming kick, cant remember if the rule was in at that time) and everyone in the east stand looking at each other as if to say "we finally look like we have a scrum half". Then a week later I think we went to Whitehaven and he had a mare, and never recovered confidence.
