| Quote ="Charente Red"Seems like a lot of players needing surgery to me. I can't argue against the logic, suppose I'll just have to accept it. This businesslike approach is probably right for long term success but the romantic adventurer in me just wants to see us go full tilt win the next game, whoever / whatever that might be.
Was a shame though when we'd won the league and then suffered two defeats, didn't matter re results but to me it took the edge off celebrating winning the league campaign. Again, just a personal opinion, it would be a shame if we'd done so well this season, then ended on two big defeats.
Be a big bonus though if the "reserves" step up and put in a good performance, so fingers crossed for that. I'm just worried that I've heard so often this season that "they had to win" somehow made it an excuse for us to lose. The party on the pitch might be a bit flat if we get stuffed.
Either way, it'll all be over by the time I get back. I set off the day after we play Warrington! Usual standard of organisation from me. Thought for a while I might get to see one more game this season but luckily we don't need the MPG.'"
We'd all like to go for it with a full team but sensibility takes over no point risking players who are busted and it's a couple of extra weeks recovery I think the reserves will give it a good go last chance to impress though we do look a bit light in the forwards

| Whilst being tremendously impressed with the (deserved) way you have regained SL status, I have to confess (as a Leyther) to being very disappointed with your selection for the visit of Catalans. For obvious reasons, I hope you beat them, but feel you have just given them a huge 'leg up' in the battle to avoid the MPG. Our coach and owner (surprisingly ) have maintained a dignified silence, but I notice that Mr. Betts, is on record as fearing your guys would be suffering a hangover for the Catalans game!
Ah well, hopefully the ten new faces haven't been celebrating all week. Good luck tomorrow!

Those players that will be pulling on the shirt tomorrow will certainly not taking the game lightly and nor will Tim Sheens either.
Some of those players will be wanting to prove they are good enough for a possible contract while the younger ones who have been quite impressive this season will want to prove that they are ready to step up a notch next year and beyond. I will be watching with interest to see how players like young Kieron Moran, Joe Cator, Brad Clavering, Will Oakes and our recent signing from Swinton, Chris Atkin perform against super league opposition, I don't think they will let us down and could even surprise us.

Hopefully, if it contributes to your demise it will certainly be worth us throwing the towel in.

| If it does, it will be only for 1 season. Ours won't be as funny as yours to Salford in the MPG last season though, I enjoyed it that much, I 'nipped upstairs' for a wink....ha ha !

| Fair few hungry players who haven't had much look in these last few month. I for one wish Leigh no ill will .Widnes an Cats less so but this is the system we are in. Not looked but what is Warringtons squad compared to last week? I still feel we will go close tomorrow .

| I know Craig, when we got promoted last season, we rested a few v Batley & Leeds, but it didn't really affect other clubs. You & Warrington can do the same, after all Leigh, Widnes, Catalans & London, have had the opportunity to be in SL 2018 already.

| I've just read the Toronto thread on Leighs board and can see Budgies beef. Individual posters will always have their dislike of certain clubs for own reasons but having seen majority of games in qualifiers Leigh are better team than wid or cats.Still not sure why they stunk against Vikings at home?Hard path too safety now.i see DIM has waded in on Leigh again whilst creaming over Toronto and french.strange man/woman but at least Bentham looked after his mob again tonight

Up til last week I thought Widnes were playing the best of the M8's, they seemed to have hit form at the right time. Couple of injuries and they look like favourites for the drop.

Whoever is relegated will find it more difficult to bounce back at the first time of asking. Cannot see either Leigh or Widnes maintaining their SL gates which will put pressure on the finances. It is difficult to say how Cats fans would react. London improved this year after 2016 and I feel will be even stronger in 2018. Toronto will be somewhat of an unknown quantity but are strengthening their squad.
You seem too optimistic to say you will be only out of SL for one season should you be relegated. I'm glad you can raise a laugh though. I don't think I would be able to if in your position.

That one slipped me by, last season. I think, belatedly, Leeds were out of order then. I was probably too concerned about how we were doing, to appreciate what Leeds did. Mind you, that's nothing compared with my concern this season. So, it looks like you admit that you weren't impressed with Leeds' antics last season? Maybe you can understand my feelings now, then?
Nevertheless, I'll be rooting for a Rovers' win tonight and obviously, a Leigh one! Once again, well done though.

i was just being 'cocky' not sure what I think to be honest, if we get relegated. But yes, there will be at least another 2 'full time' squads in the championship 2018, and Halifax might do also. Not sure if Fev are FT already.

We put ourselves in the mpg, as we lost at home to Huddersfield the week after they had beaten Leeds.
Despite the sentiment flying around team selections, it's always in your own hands at the end of the day.

| Proud and Dissapointed at same time . McBanana is one lucky man.Should have won that or a draw at least.Didnt see the sense in the drop goal at the time but they had to convert 2 fairly wide out try's so fair play to Walsh. Catalans for me should go down, we should have sent them on their way.

| Sounds like your boys put a big shift in tonight. Well done to them. I was hoping that you would win tonight which would put pressure on Catalans. Leigh will need results to go their way now to have a decent shot at SL survival, and they only have themselves to blame for being in this situation.
Good luck in SL 2018 and hopefully we will join you.

| It just shows something is wrong at Catalans when there scraping a win against our reserves with the squad they have taking nothing away from an excellent performance from us I was proud of all of them thought Atkin was excellent ZDC is a tough little player and nice to see one of Cockaynes 20 yard murder balls on his own line again

| I think it spoke volumes when they elected to take the 2 only 20 meters out from our line with a full set to play. They look weaker than Leigh and Widnes.
