So who out of our current team would have made the Leigh team which breezed the play offs last season.
We played 5 games against championship teams last year and lost 2 at home. A huge lack of respect for championship clubs on here by some.
Our hope is our coach.

A few would have made the Leigh team the problem last season is we had a coach who was beaten before we took to the field and seemed to pass that on to the players I think we will be a different proposition next year with our first real coach for four years

I agree our primary problem was coaching. We should be a completely different team this year.
We seem to have recruited well given our position but some of them I have no ideas about Heffernan, Chomley-Warner. Whether they adapt to the UK and the championship remains to be seen.
We're in for a long battle then have to hope 2 superleague clubs hit the wall and are beaten up by the play offs. It's possible. Giants, Widnes look vulnerable as do Wakefield and possibly Salford. Their new defensive coach should help us.
Leigh will go fine.
Thanks to those who posted kind messages.
Merry xmas and here's to promotion.

My point is, Apart from new signings, Lunt, Greenwood, Blair, not many. My point is the signings we have made this season WOULD get in Leighs team (I know for fact they wanted Abdull and Blair) we have made some very good signings.
I very seldom come on here (hence my post and time joined ratio) and I have mixed you up with someone else. I Apologise BF I`m sorry. I think I have mixed you up with Some once called billy circus.
Merry xmas

Getting him mixed up with Billy is the worst insult anyone could have
Bottom line on all this is until we kick off non of us will know if we're set up well or not. I still don't know if our front row is strong enough or if our hb pairing will click.
The telling factor will be Sheens. Will he be able to handle lower level rugby in a new country? It will be a culture shock for sure.
In a way I agree with BF albeit a mute version. I don't think we are looking as good as some are making out but on the other hand I think we look better than I thought we would directly after relegation.
The big thing this year is that I struggle to see the play offs having a strong a line up as last year. Widnes will struggle, Salford won't invest and wakey have Chester. I think Leight will be in there too so it should give us shout.

| Leigh were good in 2016 but they were nothing special. We should have buried them in the middle 8s game despite the fact we were in disarray. They were able to massively take advantage of the fact 3 out the 4 Super League sides in the middle 8s fell off the edge of a cliff. Fair play to them, they managed it and there is the real possibility that we will end up facing 1 or more shambolic Super League side come next August.
There are many corners to be turned before we get there but I'm pretty confident that (with one more prop) we will have enough to deal with at least 1 of the Super League sides we end up facing, especially given the hard season they likely will have had.
I think that on paper our key players are the equal to their counterparts in any of the likely struggling Super League sides and we should have the advantage of not being smashed up all season. Intensity may be an issue but there is nothing we can do about that other than a good challenge cup run.

| Don't laugh.
I think the key difference this year is that we have a cunning plan for the season, which is pretty much in place before the season starts. At least for 2017, we are clear on what our primary objective is, what we need to do to achieve it and how we need to go about it. Whether we achieve it, only time will tell. We can't take anything for granted.
After the debacle of last year and a pre season during which the squad looked woefully undercooked, unfit, beat up and rudderless, you have to have some confidence in the more focussed mindset and resolve we are now displaying. I also think the club is trying hard to avoid the media bull spin trap in favour of letting our future on-field performances do the talking.
I suspect Sheens will have minimum standards of performance and ability mapped out by position. I expect some of the current squad will fall by the wayside in this respect and be replaced by better as the season progresses.
We even have a bigger squad with more depth than last year to cover injuries.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

STB Goose. Halibut, Scallops. Are you a rich Avian tossypotty or have you been watching Nigella on catch up?
I've had a noisette today, but it came from a box of Thorntons.
Regarding the occasional poster who has just resurfaced to insult you and Burtons Forearm, well he obviously thinks you are a pair of pussies. Top judgement.
