As far as replacements go, the overlap between realistic and desirable in SL isn't huge.

Gutted Dobson is leaving but cant blame him for wanting a crack at NRL and good luck to him. Lack of quality halves out there think CS will be looking for someone he can work closely with and bring on who will compliment Burns

A great result for the rest of the teams in Superleague, but a real blow for Rovers. As others have said he has to be one of the best ever imports and he's going to be a real hard act to follow. Good luck to him back in Oz.

A sad day, but I'm pleased he's got the NRL contract he sought. Not every club's superstars can manage this.

He certainly ticks enough boxes to fit the "legend" tag, and I have enjoyed his efforts immensely, just look at his role in our 2nd & 3rd tries last weekend for example, not to mention his nerves of steel landing that conversion.

Lets hope Sandercock's Knights connection has someone lined up on the return flight.

By far the best import we have seen at HKR for decades and will be a huge loss but also maybe an opportunity to shape our team differently. We need to be looking at the lower levels in oz for another gem, the idea of signing top grade aussie halfs who aren't past it is nigh on impossible.

We have had 5 years invaluable service from probably the most influential import into super league, he has helped establish Rovers in super league & been a credit to himself, club & competition. He has got what he wanted a NRL contract & he deserves it. Thanks for the effort & very good wishes for the future, he has shown how players who are not considered good enough down under can come here & remake their carreer lets hope we find someone who can grow into his hard to fill boots (It would be nice to find one in the local park). Lets give him a good send off & finish the season on a high.

With his Newcastle contract only being 1 year, do you think we have attempted to negotiate a 1st option clause should he want to return to SL?
