Im struggling to remember any howlers from him on sunday when he played against the best side in the country...

I do remember a superb ball that put Dave Hodgson over in the corner though.

It will only turn into a bidding war if Scott Taylor is willing to join the bidding team in the first place and I think wigan is a non starter

So you think Taylor would turn his nose up at any offer from the current best team in the land for, let's say, Hull? LOL

I'm sure if Wigan are in the running, it'll be a long hard decision to be made by Scott. Weighing up the option of playing close to his current home or having his name in the history books whilst winning trophies.

I didnt mention hull . I could see him joining leeds tbh but ive heard off someone close to scott(yes that old chestnut) that wigan is big no no due to travelling reason so I would think that puts wire out too . But time will tell

Sheriff is only nineteen, give him a bit of a chance to learn the speed of the game at this level.

I think he's looked pretty impressive, certainly not far off McDonnell.

He talks a lot as well which is something really important in a full back. He might be talking rubbish though.

We need cover there but unless there's someone really outstanding available and affordable I'll be more than happy to see him given the number one jersey next season.

Indeed, thought he was very solid. Love the way he positions his hands to catch and didnt drop a thing. Positional play will come with a string of games with familiar players. I'd tell him the number 1 jersey is his.

Travis Burns signing means he can do both where he is.

Hmm, the problem with predictions is you focus on your own team and not those around. I think Rovers squad will be weaker on paper next year, but so will most other clubs. As long as you are prepared to pay the market rate for your best homegrown talent, you'll be fine.

Rovers top 4 next season no question. This man Burns is something special, Clint Newton was something special, according to him Burns is passion personified, if Clint says he will be good thats good enough for me. This team are not far off the finished article. We have given nearly every team a game being within a score of most only Hull have hammered us recently that was down to passion something with Burns in the team we will refind. Sandercock is a good coach given time working with players like Salter he will make Hull Kingston Rovers great once more. Everything will come together including our magnificent kc stand.

Burns better than Green
Paterson better than Galea
Gleeson as good as Webster (although my 7 year old son would be as good as Webster

).
Tum better than Wheeldon
Sheriff better than McDingle

And more to come, granted more may leave but over all I think our squad is already stronger for next season!

Galea this season has not been the Galea of seasons past, so yes, on this seasons showing, Paterson is an improvement on the Galea of THIS season.

How many times you seen paterson play ? And be honest

Seen Paterson play a hand full of times, Sheriff didn't play enough games IMO and made more breaks and looked much safer under the high ball than McDingle.

McDingle is by far the worst full back I have seen in SL, he is poo!!

I really hope McDingle signs for Hull, It will give us a chance in the derby's next season

Burns will do well to match what Green did in '11, but I'd certainly hope he'd be able to contribute more than Green did this year (unfortunately). [iAcross the squad[/i there'll always be injuries, of course. Aggressive and experienced player by all accounts, so fingers crossed.
Paterson is younger and bigger than Galea. Doubt he's as clever a player though and whether he can do as many good minutes as BG in his Rovers prime.
Webster is overly maligned IMO, but the time was certainly right to look for another option. Gleeson - understated, done okay at struggling teams after being released by Wigan. Coming into his prime, should be a decent signing I reckon.
Tuimavave will surely offer better value than Clinton has these last couple of years.

We're also losing McDonnell and Murrell and have lost Wheeldon and Watts. Caro rumoured to be coming in as an option for the wing. Otherwise we'll mainly be relying on the likes of Salter, Cox, J.Green, Sheriff to step into their shoes.
If we sell Taylor, he needs replacing, so unless it was a very good fee or he's already on big money (England cap upgrade maybe?) or someone good is available, I'm not sure selling makes sense. With Watts and Murrell both having counted as club-trained, we might be worried about depth of experience also.
Maybe one or two more to come in? Not many if we're looking to spend less in a players' market. I think we need some cover for scrum-half, as CS never showed any inclination to move Withers there during our pivot injury-crisis.
Overall, I think making the 8 is now the ambition rather than the expectation.

McDonnell isn't poo. Slowish start, then a good spell, then injured. Filled a spot that needed filling for a year and I'd have been happy enough if he'd accepted a new deal. But if fullbacks are the new 3rd pivot, then Hall's form at stand-off offers promise and Sheriff, though he isn't as good now, could well be in a couple of years.

I imagine I have seen 10 worse players at fullback than McDingle (how hilarious) and I have only seen him play on a couple of occasions. I don't think that anyone at FC is singing from the rooftops over the signing, (if true) but you appear to be making yourself look pretty foolish.
