That bid was turned down last year. Don't know if they applied for more in the latest round of funding but I'd be surprised if they get it out of the RGF

I'm led to believe it has been submitted with an application for 40% from the RGF (the community element) with the balance financed by private enterprise and other funding sources (sports grants etc).

From what ive heard the 2nd derby is at the KC. Already agreed by hudge and pearson and the smc and rfl have also agreed. Pearsons only negative was if it were to happen that he wanted the good friday game as fcs home game(more attendance over bank hol then on a crappy monday night game) and hudge agreed to this (shud still get more then 8k on a monday night at kc for the home game therefore benifiting us) 2nd derby rovers have the east and north stands and a 60/40 split of corporate facilities.

I have seen the plans myself.

There will be a giant 50-foot high red and white sphinx at the South end looking out onto the pitch.

It will contain within it 20 squash courts, and its eyes and mouth will double as corporate boxes. Spectators can also sit on its paws during games

Is it inflatable?

I believe it to be a solid structure made from concrete primarily.

There is also a rumour that the sphinx's head will be modelled on Mr Allam.

In other news I took my 2 year old for the first time today and he loved it.
The fact he gets excited whenever anyone takes the ball up or just kicks it no matter who they play for is something I will have to work on

Whilst this has started I am more impressed with the South stand development. When released to the public you will see what a great ground this is turning into.
