Not doing bad if hes skint is he really.... sponsors the KC East Stand, a stand at Elland Road, runs a rather large solictors company. Offsets the clubs own funding by putting his own money into the club.
Dont let facts get in the way of your FC blinkers though will you pal.

I meant cash-strapped in his capacity as Rovers' Chairman - we all know how fast he's been running to catch all those ambulances. Perhaps he'll do an Allam and invest some of his millions into the club he loves?

| Quote ="Sandra The Terrorist"Hudge loves signing players and tbf, for what he's done for our club most fans would allow him to do anything he wants, he's pretty much earned it.
You're right, it didn't work out when we had a coach so this way Hudge can sign all the players he fancies and then sign a coach who he thinks can do a job. Obviously he'll leave the coach a bit of cap space to get his own welcome presents.
It's a genius plan.
'"
How strange. You appear to change your mind as often as you do your pointy shoes:
Quote ="Sandra The Terrorist"Anyway, to come back to this.
Yes, a coach does coach the side, but when you're changing coaches the players should be that in coming coaches selections. Otherwise, when things don't go well you have the scenario of "Well, I'm coaching someone else's team".
We should be starting from scratch, a new vision, a new set up, a new way of doing things. The board's job is to facilitate that vision by providing the players (where possible) that the coach selects. Otherwise, why bother having one?
Any of us could turn a team out on the park given a bunch of players, the job of a coach is to select, garner (with the boards assistance) and meld a group of players into a cohesive structure.'"
You were right the first time, by the way.
Quote ="Sandra The Terrorist"
After over a decade as chairman, I'm not sure you can refer to Hudge as an "all singing all dancing new chairman".'"
He's all-singing-all-dancing in that he likes to have a go at most of the jobs down at Caravan Park. And he'll be the new coach's new chairman, regardless of how long he's been at Rovers. Silly.

Hes put plenty into our club, and i would be shocked if anyone Rovers fan or not wouldnt see that.
Jealous of a man putting money into the club he loves and wouldnt see in the gutter rather then someone who is 100% into it for himself (ala pearson)...?

| 'We have made signings which are entirely based on the recommendations of the coaching staff as a whole, with opinion sought from one or two senior players but I expect we will leave several slots for the new coach to fill'.

| The majority of the newbies are young lads with something to prove!
Obviously there is plenty of opportunity for the new coach to roll his own way beit that we should be well under-cap.
Just why our B&W buddies are so animated about the new Rovers set up surprises me... or does it?
Have 100% faith in our board to deliver!!!!

100% answered your own question there!
That aside, weve brough in Hodgeson for Fox (about the same money if not less?)
O'Hara for Vella (will be on less money)
Horne for Cook (about the same money)
Taulapapa for Briscoe (will be on less money)
Griffin for Colbon (the same or more likely less money)
Followed by Charlie, Newton, Mason & fisher going, id say we have an absolutely massive ammount of the cap left for the new coach to bring in quality players.

There's not alot of OOC quality over here, and you can't have much room on the Quota/Non-Fed list to bring in players from the NRL? Plenty of cap space left though.
The only other players I've seen you linked with are Withers & Paea, are you linked with anyone else?

I thinkyou will find 2013 is the season to look at as IIRC we will only have 4 or 5 of the current squad signed up beyond next season (unless some of the kids have had their deals extended) so the new coch will have a year to look at what we have got already, what he can bring in and then make his own team for 2013.

Whilst it is, of course, prudent to use the word "jealous" with reference to your fanatical little chairman, your context is wrong in this sentence. "Amused by..." would be more appropriate while we are commentating on his bum over boobs approach to team building for next year.

Tauapapa is a utility replacement for Cockayne on less money, leaving Briscoe's considerable six-figure salary free.
Horne will be on less than Cooke too, as will Griffin compared to Colbon.
Paea will be on slightly less than Newton too.
Against that, Withers will be coming on more money than Fisher;
And the likes of Taylor and Hodgson have signed significantly raised contracts as have, to a lesser extent, Beaumont, Latus, Dobson and Green.
All told, I would estimate that, even after the anticipated arrivals of Paea and Withers, the club would still have at least ÂŁ200k salary cap space free.

Must be at least twice that surely. You've lost mason, vella, newton and briscoe who would have been 5 of your top 6 earners and replaced them with no one of note as yet. Must be at least ÂŁ400k, probably more

What's to be jealous of: finishing lower than we have? perhaps he's devastated to have only lost 1 derby game this season? Maybe he's gutted at missing out on some of the quality NRL signings made by your outgoing coach?
The future continues to look rosy what with gates on the up as well as a 3rd consecutive appearance in the play offs.
I'm sure "jealous" is the 1st word on his lips each morning!

Very much doubt he will be on less the Cook, He was on peanuts and thats why hes going to quins - wanted to stay but he would earn more in a call centre then what he would staying for that wage; and thats from the player himself.

I find this very hard to believe and was probably said tongue in cheek, after 3 years of no pay rises I once said to my boss 'I would be better off stacking shelves at ASDA', which I wouldn't be really and i doubt Cook would be paid less than a call centre worker for playing SL football.

| Not too sure about it being off mark if you look at the recent blogs about what Mariano and Beaumont were on for their 1st year - ÂŁ7,500. Latus was the same but obviously got more for a 2nd year. Frankie and Esders doubled their wages when they left for example. The top earners are on very good wages, ÂŁ100,000+ all of them.
