He didn't get offered a new contract. Seemed to be more Hull KR's decision for him to leave than his own.

I think what's harsh is that the players only started performing for Morgan after being read the riot act by NH and then after the damage had already been done.

Anyway Morgan's achieved exactly what he achieved last year at this point, in fact slightly more. Rovers achieved 29 league points this year (2010:2icon_cool.gif and reached the quarter finals of the cup (2010: eliminated in the first round competed in). This despite having more injuries to key players and the off field distractions not of his making ie Mason/Dobson registration/Ben Cockayne/Liam Watts etc. He's won, what, 9 from the last 10 games, peaking at exactly the right part of the season. Harsh. IMO.

The "push" Morgan referenced this week has today become contextualised by him achieving more points than last season and the same league position, with an outstanding return from the last 10 games. I know it's maybe a bit uncomfortable, but the decision, given that Morgan's alluded to wanting to stay, is fair to challenge IMO. Perhaps everyone else is universal in supporting it. I'll let it lie, then, cockle.

Of course the decision was pushed from our side - it would only come from the other side if JM actually had a job to go straight into. It wasn't just the results that brought JM's position into scrutiny, it was the manner of some of the defeats/performances that made fans question his future. "I think it's time" to quote JM, something many supporters agree with. Of course, it only proves a worthwhile decision if we replace JM with another decent coach.
