I think it's premature too, 1 bad season with adversity with injuries and behind the scenes wrangling with Mason and to a certain degree Cockayne. Morgans still young and learning how to cope with new situations and has done brilliantly for 5 seasons. He's done really well for us and the best coach we've had since Millward.
But saying that the team don't seem motivated or capable of putting consistently good performances in and probably for a few players they'd peaked in 2009.
So for me it's either keep Morgan but have a clear out of playing staff on a par with his 1st couple of seasons when he brought in new faces, he needs to be ruthless, maybe in this case bite the bullet and bring in the young lads even if we're not going to be anywhere near the playoffs next season.
Or bring in Kear with the same remit of a clear out and bring the kids through, he knows how to get the best out of young players.

In the end though even he outstayed his time and lost the abbility to motivate the players, strangely enough it was against Warrington at Wilderspool when Rovers lost by sixty odd points to something(i forget the exact score even though i was there that day) that finaly put an end to his coaching position at HKR.

You are probably right regarding Sheffield been his very last game as coach but The Warrington game was the game that all but sealed his fate shall we say, if i remember correctly, i do remember the board of directors having a meeting shortly after that game to discuss his future and the writing was on the wall for Millward, they were certainly depresing times

and not to disimilar to the current situation imo.

I'm torn tbh. I want to stick by Morgan - if he wants out I'd not be standing in his way, but he's been pretty unequivocal about not quitting. OTOH we could do with some different ideas, and perhaps a new coach would be better able to offer them.

Not quite mate - the defeat at Wilderspool was in January '89 and Roger oversaw our relegation that year and subsequent promotion in 89-90 before coaching us in 90-91 culminating in the Sheffield debacle....

I do vividly recall a meeting of the BoD following the Warrington game to discuss Roger's future but he was given a couple of more years, not sure Justin will have that luxury..
