I personally think that is because you need more people posting. Yup, a lot of idiots post on both sides, and I hold my hands up for being a moron from time to time. You and I know though that we all have friends of other persuasions and the banter is what is right. This other forum (which I can access by the way), is often referred to but you should get them all on here. Make more sense and would help you IMO.

Many Hull fans read it, not many post.

I just think it comes accross as a bit insular. Especially as it is often mentioned in "superior" terms. Rl fans is the largest RL fan site. Get with it and stop bickering amongst yourselves.

Have to be honest and say I pretty much agree with you mate - it's boring on there because there's never any debate. Seems like if you even dare disagree with certain people you won't be on there long (or you'll basically be shunned).
It's handy I guess if you need info (e.g. if a game's going ahead like last week), but for banter and a good laugh it's RLFans for me.

It serves a different role - I agree that RLfans is more of a laugh. Although I think if it (the unofficial forum) didn't exist things might go too far the other way, not being challenged as much seems to lead to a bit of negative navel gazing.

'What's the point of being in Super League, if there are no medium sized away shirts in the club shop?' That sort of thing.

They probably need a bit of Barista, FC Imp or Chris1953 to cheer them up.



There is a lot of distraction on here though, so if you want to discuss Rovers issues seriously, RLfans is probably a distant second.

Thats fair enough. The thing about all this, is that it's personal choice at the end of the day. If you don't like something - don't use it. Can't really understand why some hull fans feel so strongly about it.

Suppose the more you use forums the more danger there is of the internet and reality swapping places.

What I don't get mate is - why would any Hull fans even want to browse our Unofficial Forum?!

Theres plenty of hull fans who browse the rovers forum, which is fine. I wouldn't even be bothered if they contributed in a non-trolling way, but I do like the fact its not just a constant 'my dads bigger than your dad' trollfest like it is on here.

Like you say, if you want that - this is the place to be.

It's interesting to see what your fans really think from time to time. The output on RLFans is less 'honest', for want of a better word.

To be fair, other clubs with independent forums don't make such a big thing of it and they are generally smaller and less active than the RLFans version.

IIRC The Rovers Unofficial Forum has been around a lot longer then the RLFans Forums and has always been the most popular one amongst fans, Hull FC used to also have an unofficial forum but it was closed a few years ago.

I think you may remember wrongly. IIRC the unofficial forum opened following the closure of the official forum on the KR website. RLFans pre-dated that.

And Hull never had an alternative 'unofficial' forum. We used to have an official forum on the club site but that was closed due to legal worries and the posters migrated to RLFans.

The original Rovers forum that begat the current one wasn't on Rovers website.
It wasn't a club forum, it was owned and run by fans

it was wound up and a new forum created with the unnoficial tag because of potential legal issues with john wright

the clear demarcation between club an fans made life easier

I like the unofficial forum. Where else can you read comments that the best illustration of strength in depth at Rovers is the "fact" that Ben Cockayne would be first choice full back at half the other SL clubs?
