If someone is regularly topping the tackle count week in/out aswell as captaining the side and chipping in with yardage too then I can't see how he can be overrated?

I can understand you not liking him, which is perfectly fine but his workrate is what people rate about him. I would have had him in the England 17 easily.

WIGAN have 5 captains do they not Goroka?? WIth 1 nominated as the on field captain for the each game. It is a well used practice in NRL by all acounts and something the new coach has implemented there.

As for the 'over-rated' O'Loughln. The official tackle count was 48! Just remind me again how many players in SL get through this amount of work during a game? "Over-rated"??? You couldn't make it up!

Only the captain can approach the referee to ask for clarification on things, if you've got three of your five captains on the park at any one time, how does the referee know who's the relevant one? Can't they all just go up to him and start haranging him?

No, it's effectively a 'leadership team' of senior professionals but only 1 is nominated as captain for each game and leads the team out,speaks to the ref etc. The '5 captains' label is a bit of a misnomer really. I'm fairly sure the club has never referred to it as such, but the media obviously liked it as an attention grabbing headline, wherafter it stuck!

I thought they were deciding amongst the 5 who would be the captain before each particular game?

To be fair mate, anyone can be over-rated, no matter how good they actually are. O'Loughln is one of those players who divides opinion, so GML is entitled to his.

Personally I agree with you, I think he's good and I'd have him at Rovers given the chance.
