Horne would be at best a bit part squad member. If we were paying him accordingly he might be a useful cover player.

Wouldn't disagree with that too much. IMO his main failings are a lack of consistency and a tendency to make daft mistakes. Useful cover and likely to be relatively inexpensive.

I agree, though in fairness he has been played in pretty much every position on the park over the past couple of years so the apparent lack of consistency and silly mistakes are kind of understandable.

Too many people on these boards write players off too easily and fail to see the bigger picture.

Certainly won't have helped, especially as he gets played in the centres where it's difficult to defend without enough game time (or training) to really learn the ropes.

The frustrating thing has always been that he clearly has some talent and ability - he just demonstrates it far too infrequently.

Horne would be an inexpensive and versatile squad player. I'd have [uvery[/u severe misgivings about King - I'd give him a chance, as I would anybody, but very much more in hope than expectation.

If the man goes off the rails when he's playing for the club he loves what can we expect of him when he's playing for the club he hates. A decent forward on his day, but no thanks.

As you state , everyone should have a second chance but I think King has already used that up at Hull .

We need to sign specialist players in key positions. Horne and King don't fit the bill, in my opinion.

BOTH SIMPLY ARENT GOOD ENOUGH..ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT...WELL TO BE FAIR TO KING, IF HE HAS AN INJURY FREE PRE-SEASON AND CUTS THE FAGS AND BOOZE THEN YOU WOULD BE AQUIRING A GOOD FORWARD AS FOR HORNE...

In the run in to the 2006 grand final, graeme Horne was outstanding. You get him back to that kind of form and you've got yourself a very talented player (provided the rumours are true of course).
