smith was leaning forward whilst mcguire was leaning backwards, which is why smith looks so far in front of mcguire. but his feet are further back than his body, and offside is measured off the feet, and i believe smiths feet were inline with the ball when it left mcguires feet, therefore being onside.
should have been benefit of the doubt to leeds anyway.
