1) stan is a freak thats why.
2) you need to have the pace for a quick play for the short gain, but he has the knowledge so that might make up for it
worth the shot taking everything into account,
How about Semi as cover?
or really take the p1ss and bring Moa over to the east side and coach him properly and turn him into a decent player

| Galea, Newton, Webster, Vella, Fisher or Fitzy and Dobbo
6 of those will stay, other than that we have to hope for ways of getting federation trained players to the club.
I hope there is a way around the system for Rhys but I think this rules out anyone else not federation trained or home grown out of the question.
Only way Gidley could come is if Webster left and I can be sure that he wouldnt come to us over Saints. Why do we need another centre anyway? Welham has shown his class, Webster is showing form again which is a great thing.
Stan and Makka btw still are exempt while they are at the club, dont see either of them staying after this year though.

As for Craig Hall - tremendous talent. His Dad was a decent player nothing more at full back. Then he was given free reign to express himself and show what he could do at loose forward. Then the Gt Britain caps followed.
Craig Hall can blossom like his Dad but he needs to get away from Hull FC. With his ability he could play in several positions so don't think of him as a centre. I'd sign him like a shot.'"
Craig is an out and out centre.

Morgs is a top class coach, but everyone has limits! More chance of turning auntie Kath into a ball-handling 2nd Rower than making a decent prop of that lardass!

| Quote ="Mild Rover"One downside of Rovers current good form is that we seem to be struggling for baseless transfer/recruitment speculation. If you were the coach, which players from other clubs would you be looking at? Being realistic, I think the following could be worth considering (depending to an extent on who gets promoted from the U21):
Kirk Netherton. Still counts as club-trained, I assume, has another year of SL experience under his belt and would provide natural cover/competition for Fisher.
Craig Hall. Out of favour at Hull. Bit of a gamble, but if Walker moves into the back row, another centre would come in handy.
Sam Obst/Brad Drew. Both Australian (and Drew is definately at the veteran stage) and we'll be looking to cut our overseas contingent I assume. However, their ability to play at hooker or halfback, could be really useful.
Matty Smith. A young British alternative to the Wakefield duo. Being behind Dobson might not seem like the best career option for him though.'"
Hall would be the only one to be looked at out of those mate

Short of confidence and form, but nearly a year younger than Welham, so he still certainly has potential.
The Hull fringe players that are ooc (T. Lee, G. Horne and R. Whiting), would all be competent and, crucially, inexpensive additions to the squad, but hopefully there are players in the U-21 who would be near as good now (2010) and better in a few years.
Newton would be a bit of a 'name' signing IMO - possibly not the best value for money. Crabtree could be good, though it is not a area of the team were Rovers are struggling, at the moment (even with Vella out). Think a few other teams would be interested though.

But he can offload in the tackle...... which is something we are lacking.
As for Hall - i personally wouldnt want him at the club, think it would be a step backwards to what weve already got. Even Lovegrove is younger then Welham so the age of Hall shouldnt really come into question.

| TBh I'd prefer us to spending some money on the top talent in teh reserves. We have a good squad now so lets start planning for 2-3 seasons time and sign up some real classy 17 year olds.
I'd take another young classy prop (as both Fozzy and Vella are getting on) and a world class hooker (not that there is any available) for the 1st team. Fitzhenry I'd let go only because he is exactly the same cover as we get from Ben and Ben is English and equal talent.
