As for bitter, nah, not me. In the 32 years I've been supporting Hull, Rovers have had the upper hand for about 5 seasons. The last two years are more to do with our failings than yourselves.

TBF there was a restrictive covenant placed on the land at the time of purchase and it was better for the council to have the land used than to remain barren for years. Also Wastewise pulled out when Rovers went into administraion.

They bought the land then immediately leased it back on a 250 year lease, therefore it becomes an investment. In all honesty Hull fans shouldn't be so smug about council involvment in club finances when you consider the leg ups they have received in the past 10 years or so.

Also iirc HCC originally got £155k for the site, well below market value, but not free as some have alluded to.

1978-79 - We were won Division 2, Rovers won Division 1 (although we had a bigger average attendance)

1980-81 - Rovers finished a few places and 4 points higher than us

1983-84 and 1984-85 - Rovers were Champions.

Cant believe he is attempting to state that having a bigger average attendance could cancel out winning the first division championship! On that basis we would have to give them 83/84 and 84/85.

What other reason could you have had for including the average attendance statement? I'll refrain from coming back at you with a personal insult. Usually a sign of lack of intelligence in my experience.

On a serious note you admit to always struggling attendance wise even as the then RL Div 1 Champions however the key to your financial security seems to be built around a 'build it and they will come' philosophy ie extend the stadium and average over 10k consistently.

Is this realistic? Are there fans waiting to make an appearance at Craven park?
