| Looking at all these threads just makes me wonder how the hell we got into this mess.
I just can't believe we went into this season with a squad of 26 plus a 16 yo and an Aussie crock that we all knew wouldn't be ready for the start of the season, but getting sound bites from the club that they were hoping he'd be ready for the start of the season.
We hired new fitness coaches to get away from having an injury ravaged squad.......look how well that worked!
We hired Jamie Peacock to be this new messiah that would bring a new professionalism to our club and bring in better signings off the back of his name at least.....our recruitment was awful! Why he wasn't thrusted into the role right after the grand final I don't know, bringing him in on a full time role in December baffled me.
Then to top it all off, we have a pre-season training camp of fighting fires at Newcastle airport and (as noble as it was) helping the flood victims in Cumbria. Instead of looking at new combinations and defence training
We are now at the point were we are now looking at a new coach..... Jesus wept. A fans forum is needed to answer all questions about what the hell has been going on since September last year.
Wondering who is going to be our next coach is dependant on how we perform the next month, but this club is no further on since the Sandercock departure, it's a case of déjà vu. The season is four games in, but we are not good enough to make the top 8 even with most our team back. Now that is Chesters fault, and rightly has gone. But bigger balls was needed at the end of last year, but the board unfortunately ain't that ruthless.
This season is now in the bin, but let's have no quick fixes and rushed appointments, and let's get this right from now on.

| Poching.
His name is Poching.
P. O. C. H. I. N. G.
FFS.
Now, I've widely criticised him for our defence, but how much of that came down to Chester's game plan (or apparent lack of) and tactics?
Let's see how he goes for a few weeks, but keep our irons in the fire and get Useless Mike to fanny about seeing who's available.
Remember, we're not that big a draw for anyone whose available, although I've often wondered what really went wrong with Daniel Anderson's career.

Perhaps it would have been a lot better if he had been allowed to use the defensive structure he used at Warrington. Warrington didn't have any problems defensively when he was defensive coach at the club.

| It may be that WP wanted to do certain things but Chester as head coach overruled him. Perhaps now that he has sole control of the systems, selection and tactics things will improve. Either way it seems he'll be here till at least June and perhaps longer. We all need to get behind him and the team.

You're having a laugh. You're basically saying we won't win a game until June, then.

In that case Poching doesn't have a mind of his own, as any coach worth his salt would complain at the very least and possibly even resign if his input was continuously been overruled like you suggest.
The truth is, he had the reigns regarding the defensive side of things and based on last years plus the current season to date, has not shown enough of the quality required at this level to warrant a fulltime coaching position imo.
I personally believe the club may keep him as a back up for a while at least, while seeking the right candidate for the full time position.
Thing is the club has to get it right this time so with that in mind I think they will go for some one with proven pedigree, perhaps we can expect to see one of the coaches mentioned in the press given the job, or it could just as well be someone that no one expects.
In fact the only thing we can all be sure about in this game is you are as well to expect the unexpected.

Your right mate, first time coaches are always useless, just ask Shawn Wane, Micheal Mcguire and Brian Mclennan, all who won GFs in there first year as head coaches
As well as Trent Robinson, who did better with Catalan in his first season as coach than anyone before or since
Or even Daryll Powels first year as a SL coach for 10 years who got also rans Cas to a CC final and top four spot
Do you want me to go on?

| Whether I am right or wrong I don't know. But I do believe that there was a lot going on behind the scenes that the supporters are unaware of but what the Board decided they had to finally act upon because the supporters demanded it. I personally want an experienced coach and if we have to break the bank to obtain him then so be it. And I don't believe that Rowley or McNamara have the skills; knowledge; experience; respect to be successful. Any coach coming in will be left with Chester's legacy. Backs that probably have the talent but no forward power to lay the foundations.

Did he? It's strange an ex Warrington player should tell people that he is a very good coach. As for your comment about him resigning would you resign if your boss didn't take notice of your suggestions ?
