The guy is 20 and huge he seems to have a natural ability to bump off players left right and centre this coupled with some good pace. Certainly one of the best 20yr olds I've seen for a long time.

Told a few at crown he was praying he'd be able to stay with us. I think his recent form has shown so much potential, that even if he waits and we can't get him, he won't have a problem finding a club.

Rovers want him so much they are exploiting a 'loop hole' to keep him??? Why not offer him an overseas spot instead of trying to bend the rules??? If Rovers get this through (which I very much doubt) it would make a mockery of the game.

Why would it? Its exactly why the rule was broght in but again another person who doesn't take any notice of the full story!

The rule has been brought in to encourage clubs to bring through youngsters, not just British youngsters although that would be an advantage and one the RFL are hoping for.

Rhys is under 21 and is so classed as federation trained which means he is not one of the 10. I would have been disapointed if the club didnt exploit a loophole because it means we can still have the other 10 spots free for quality signings like we've already made.

As a counter for this rule any British players who have received their training up to the age of 21 in Australia will count on the none federation trained list. Those players are very few and far between but this proves the rule isnt JUST to get British youngsters ahead of their Aussie counterparts.

But why let facts get in the way of having a dig at the RFL!

Rules are there to be gotten around, simple as that. Why sould we have him on as a quota player if we don't have to? We could do what some clubs do; just break the rules, then whinge about getting punished.

Wigan 'broke' the rules, and hence were punished. Had they spotted a loophole and exploited it they would not (could not) have been punished.
