The NHS are provided for in another part of the stadium and the build was seemingly put on hold due to a couple of issues IIRC
1) They had to find out if they had to commit further funds into the North stand to get it built.
2) The council had an issue with Rovers not providing enough disabled viewing and Rovers answer of saying that they'd provide it in the North stand didn't seem to wash with them
All this Mike Smith talk is getting boring we all know as well as you do that his timeline on Craven Park has turned into a farce. |

I'd assume the new north would have a similar viewing areas for wheelchair users (like KC)
Cant find the link to the plans at mo. I think there is a law in the new build construction to have said viewing facilities, Theres a link on the saints stadium thread to the laws. |

But not anything on it being canned/postponed. I remember talk of it being delayed to get economies of scale with the north stand build, but if the funding is in place as has been said in all the above articles, why would it not go ahead. IMO it would be biggest bang for buck in terms of return. |

Cheers. The timeline is one thing, but one of the articles says the funding was there through a combination of NHS and RFL match funding. Council thing seems a bit petty if appropriate facilities are provided elsewhere. |

It is now though. So is the assumption that the £300k from the NHS and £750k RFL funding being used on the North? Would be a bit odd though as the funding for the North is supposed to be through a combination of ERDF and prudential central government borrowing by Hull City Council. |

Not saying it's an issue. But there is lack of clarity about what happened to the £750k RFL funding for the East extension. Mr Skywalker suggests it's gone towards getting the North over the line, which seems plausible. In which case, sending letters to other SL chairmen to say the RFL's not supporting SL clubs seems inconsistent. |

Mrs B., the grant from the RFLs development fund for the East Stand ext'n was not transferred to the North Stand.
The NHS have opted to be housed in the North stand under a different arrangement. The lump sum of £250,000 toward the East Stand ext'n is replaced by a lease agreement.
The proposed South Stand project includes the East corner space (where the extension was supposed to be). Funding applications include a grant from the RFL development fund which I assume is the monies you are mentioning.
On your tongue-in-cheek troll re Hudge's letter, I like to think a person of your intellect will know the difference between capital funding and working capital.

The NHS are now to be housed in the North stand though.
I belived the monies they had provided was to be added to the pot as was any cash Rovers had for the East stand but Paul T's idea of the NHS just having a lease in the North is also a watertight idea.
Either way the NHS are now in the North as the North stand takes priority over an East stand extension. |

Good insight, thank you. On your last point, however, it doesn't take a genius to recognise that cash is king. If I were relying on a RFL handout to get the South Stand over the line as you imply, I would question the wisdom of writing to other chairmen criticising the potential paymaster for not also providing cash to make up income shortfalls/cost overspends in my operating cashflow, that's all. Seems a bit odd. |
