| If it's for charity, fair enough, but realistically:
Radford v Mason
Age 31 v 30
Height 6ft 1 v 6ft 4
16st v 18st 2
Also, wasn't Mason such a keen boxer that he planned on pursuing a professional boxing career? Laudable idea if it's for the Steve Prescott fund or other charity, but lunacy on Radford's part IMO. On the other hand, if Radford won, how hilarious.

There would need to be some form of handicap introduced, maybe 3 FC players could sit on Mason while Radford rained punches down on him.

| Whats the point in this fight.
According to another board Mason would be destroyed and Radford is the hardest player in SL.
There is nothing to substansiate that of course.

why would it be ridiculous?
David Haye was 3 stone lighter than Audley Harrison but look at the outcome, its whats in your heart that matters, not your belly my dear.

| There are some Hilarious quotes from hull fans on their board. How has radford suddenly got a reputation of being the hardest player in the league? I'm not saying he's soft, but the only things he's done of late are hitting Bailey when he was on the floor and beat fielden up after mason had softened him up.
Mason would floor him within 30 seconds.

Slight difference, Haye is a good professional boxer, Harrison is a poor pudding of a boxer whereas Mason is a big, tough RL player who won't back down. Radford might beat him in a boxing match, but I always rely on the old saying that 'a good big 'un will always beat a good little 'un'

Familiar pattern. Listing a whole heap of excuses in advance in case the result doesn't go your way.

Could you list the advantages that Radford, in your opinion, has over a younger. bigger opponent who's considered a pro boxing career?

| One would assume due to his relative lack of bulk he would be able to easily out manoeuvre his slow and hulking opponent and torment him with superior hand speed.
On the other hand, if Mason won, how hilarious.

So why, in boxing, is being heavier classed as a weight "[uadvantage[/u"?
And why, in boxing is being taller classed as a height "[uadvantage[/u"?

That's not answering the question. What do "height advantage" and "weight advantage" mean, as they are commonly used boxing terms, are they not? Mason is currently training with a boxing coach it says in the Aussie press today. Maybe it's on.

| to answer the direct question as i know you like to drift to say the least, height advantage means he's taller and generally has a better punching angle, weight advantage means he's heavier so theoretically more weight behind the punch so punches harder, audley??????????????

So it's generally accepted that being taller and heavier gives you an advantage in boxing, and as the exception that proves the rule, Audley is gash. Mason is younger too, and has great footwork. Poor Radders. What the hell is he thinking?

I don't know, and I'm probably in pretty good company.
I suspect Messrs Valuev, Harrison, Bruno, Holmes......don't know either.

it may be an advantage, but it never guarantees you a win, if you dont have the heart you wont beat an egg, just look at BIG David Mills for example,

Why stop at boxing
For the record the hull fans have their own thread on this and they are almost unanimous that Radford is the hardest and best boxer ever to hit super league so it was vital they managed to secure him for another two years,

hes training with a boxing coach yes, doesnt say hes boxing though, boxing is a very fit sport MrsB as you probably know, im sure the Hull players will do some boxing training at some stage, they probably go swimming to, but i cant see Rebecca Adlington panicking just yet,
all you are trying to do is play down Lee Radfords chances, so if he gets beat you can claim he wasnt meant to win as hes so much smaller/lighter, but yet if he wins then its an embarassment for Mason whose so much bigger,
sorry MrsB but your atempts at mind games are getting worse.

| This is great. Aussie hardman, as he is repeatedly referred to in the press, or "bully boy" as Gekko likes to call him as in my sig, who's much bigger, younger and doing boxing training right now, would be the underdog against poor old Radford who you lot think is so poor you were chanting to Morgan not to sign him at your last home game. You're scared Radford the donkey might beat your most impressive ever signing who considered a pro boxing career, and quite rightly so, it [uwould[/u be a humiliation for him. Radders on the other hand is just trying to raise money for a mate (we all saw how emotional he was the the Fielden fight), even if he is a loon for suggesting the best way to do it is to get battered. The fact that Radford's probably not back until Easter following shoulder surgery won't help his cause either.
