Sorry for the thread drift but in my book anybody willing to kill themselves in order to also kill innocent people is mentally ill.

I would however just ask you to read this research done by Nottingham Uni - research.nottingham.ac.uk/newsre ... spx?id=344 It too is just an opinion based on research however there have been instances where terrorist cells have used the mentally ill to carry out attacks. The main thing from this is that EVERYONE has a different way of thinking whether it be from this extreme right down to should you slap a naughty child. Ben has a different thought pattern to that of say Gordon, Gordon has a different thought pattern to mine...etc we dont have to agree with each other but a healthy understanding of why someone thinks differently sometimes makes all the difference when judging an action.

You "love" Rovers differently to that of say your children, parents and other close family and friends. A gun is pointed at your child you'd probably stand in front of that weapon to save your child, however you wouldnt die for Rovers, it would upset you but you wouldn't sacrafice yourself for it.

What a lot of religeous believers have is a love that outweighs their love for their family and friends and some believe that if they die for their cause their afterlife will be so great it outweighs the cost they have paid in this life.

As for the unwritten rule of "one in all in" and "put them down and make sure they stay down or they'll get up and do it to you" maybe you havent heard of it but its out there and not one just shared by Longhill folk. I havent played for any team that hasn't used the term "one in all in" and it doesnt just count on the pitch either.

He's far from innocent mate, if he hadn't have beat his girlfriend up in the pub then none of this would have happened as no one would have said a word to the knob never mind beat him up. KR fans I urge you to get behind Ben and support him through this set back he' a good lad with a big heart and he loves Hull KR and rugby league in general. Some of the messages hes had from people over this incident are sickening, people have told him they wish hed have died in Iraq, some of these are from rovers fans too. Now people know the full story I dont expect them to condone what he did but I think it gives people a bit more insght in to the full happenings of what went on that night and hopefully people can see what a cretin Thompson is and hat the papers didn't report the full version of events.

Listen pal, I have been in Court enough times to know that any Solicitor worth his salt would of had everyone in that pub making statements to varify the other stuff you are saying and it would of all had been released in Court and in the press and used in Ben's defence. Funny how the Ponte and Cas express, the Yorkshire post and none of the Nationals that picked up on it bothered to print any of this stuff either!!

If it happened as you say why were there no proceedings against the other guy because if four or five people made statements it would of been investigated?

I have no doubts the other guy is a bell end, you can tell by looking at him, but dont make excuses. We all make silly choices, I have done it enough times, but you need to be man enough to face the punishment and personally I think it was light. I got 3 months for one punch with no previous, how the hell is that justice if you can kick a man in the head and get a suspended sentence?
