Don't blame Dobson. Everyone knows he is going to get the ball and can therefore set their defence to neutralise him. Its the support cast that is the problem. If IAnson and Murrell were any attacking threat at all they would create uncertainty in the opposition defence and give Dobson more options. As it is they can be safely ignored as the non threats they are leaving Dobson to do it on his own. What a great move to get rid of Crook without having any options as a replacement.

Rovers knew he has a short fuse,and took cheap shots at him,no wonder he lost it,an elbow in the chops tends to do that.
That jerk in the middle had it in for him as he stepped on the pitch.

No cross field kicks really either. Was very surprised as thats how we've conceded most of our tries this year.

Thought Hull defended the short grubber kicks really well yesterday. On most occasions a Hull player was first to the ball on the back of reading the play and this is one area where we have struggled with recently IMO.

Any kind of decent additional half back would have won us the game. We had so much possesion in the second half and did nothing with it. Too much on Dobbo's shoulders IMO. Credit where it's due; FC'S goal line defence was excellent.

Was the best ive seen us defend the grubber this year. We seemed to want to block the kick at all costs and react quickly to the loose ball. Normally we dont stick a leg out or anything.

Thats garbage! Either that or Billy Slater always plays against a poor kicker. Of course the defence can determine if a kick is good or bad, its called reading the play.

That is true - everything goes through Dobson and it is predictable. The fact we've failed to score in so many second halves maybe indicates that it only takes 40 minutes for opponents to learn our attack and nullify it. We need I'anson to grow into the stand-off role or, if it doesn't work out, find a new 6 for 2011. We've had a crazy number of hb partnerships since promotion. Webster-Murrell, then Webster got injured and Cooke arrived. Cooke was suspended, then Webster got injured and Dobson arrived, before Cooke was 'unfit for selection'. Last year was a bit better after Cooke got over his wrist injury and we looked more cohesive. 3 games each at stand-off this for Jake Webster, I'anson and Murrell has not been conducive to producing a fluent and varied attacking threat.




We'd have wanted it sorting before the season or leaving to the end of the year, ideally. But it didn't happen that way, and I'm happy to trust it was done the interests of HKR and move on.

One thing that Morgan and Agar have in common is that whenever a vacancy comes up, Hull fans hope one of them gets it.



We've been restricted by the cap since then - nobody can carry on adding that many players every year. I imagine Hull will have fairly low-key recruitment at the end of this season. Whether we intend to continue spending at the cap, while running current losses is unclear and depends on our benefactors. There has been no signal either way so far. There are the first rumblings of news on the North Stand which has the potential to make a massive difference.
We'll see - but as we develop more of own players, we'll get better value from whatever proportion of the cap we do spend.

I rate Dobson highly but luckily for us he was poor. His kicking game was off and seemed content just to shovel the ball out deep from our defensive line.
Long took the ball to the line like a No7 should.
A bad show from Dobson , but he will have more good games than bad for Rovers as he is quality.

Tbf, in that respect they've been remarkably restrained IMO. After the stick we've given them in recent years, we can't complain.

Perhaps a bit of both perhaps. He is the sole creative player now which makes him easier to close down however I expected him to do a bit better than he did. His attacking kicks close to our line were poor IMO.

Isn't any player suffering concussion automatically given a weeks enforced rest and needs to pass a medical test before being allowed to return ?................
