Can't cook/bake for toffee me.

We have a new guy at work who wanted to make me a curry, but then found out I was a veggie & refused to make me one without meat. Anyway he compromised on Pakora & some potato thingys as long as I made him a fruit cake. So I bought a couple of Sultana & Cherry cakes from Tesco dropped them on the floor a couple of times, wrapped them in cling film, stuck them in a tin & he'll never know the difference. Well not until someone at work tells on me.

The shop down Grafton street is still there, but the windows are black and it has been shut for years. She does have another shop now down Princes Avenue which does occasionally open - still sells the same old tat. Pauline herself is very infirm and is now in a wheelchair.

My friend used to live next door but one to the shop in Grafton Street, Pauline - a lovely woman - used to come round for cups of tea. My friend's mum - a cleanliness fanatic - was wary of the environment from which Pauline emerged - her shop - with all it's accumulated grubby paraphernalia so reserved a special cup for the visitor. After the cup's unexplained disappearance one day, the frustration caused by her fruitless search was only relieved when the cup appeared in the shop window, priced 50p, a week or so later.

A friend of mine puts Campbells condensed mushroom soup in a chicken and mushroom pie. They think it's lovely.

It's not gone unnoticed. He never used to be like this - he's either worried that FC will do OK next year or a he's just a bit cocky. I can't stop the double entendres or smut tonight. Yes especially Longley Farm, but it was years ago before they were so big. Their original Hazlenut Yoghurt was amazing (before everything had to be low fat/low sugar) I can recall an Elaine Ratcliffe but not sure where, when or why.

Slightly disappointing, I'm sure I was Terry Scott last week.

If it's the Ratcliffe's I know they're milking parlour engineers. Duncan, their son runs the business now. I' friends with his wife, Charlotte. Well, through Ms. Terrorist who works with her. Lovely family.

My family owned the shop in Aldbrough on Hornsea Road when I was a nipper and we always stocked Longley Farm stuff, this was in the seventies and eighties, so I'll have eaten your milk! Wow!

I would imagine that quite a few people off here would have gone on bike rides from East Hull to Aldbrough and probably bought stuff in our shop, they might remember my Dad, sarccy miserable bugger... Genetics? Probably.

How strange! The friend who lived in Grafton street had an auntie in Aldbrough and used to bike to her house often. I bet they both used your shop. Her aunt was an amazing eccentric and used to breed sheepdogs on a small holding-type-thing.

Oh, and I'm glad you mentioned the Prince's Ave shop, that was the one I knew, didn't venture as far west as Grafton Street.

My first girlfriend lived off Newlands ( I think, it connected onto the road whose name escapes me that the cemetery is on) she was called Margaret. Always doomed to fail that. Margaret.

I like it, I had an incredibly idyllic childhood growing up in Aldbrough, my back yard was about fifty miles square, we could play anywhere and everyone kept an eye on us.
