You have to understand that quality players are often under contract which takes time to negotiate with the player's club/s.

We could have signed some old has-beens who were available but Justin Morgan's remit is to improve the squad year on year which he is in the process of doing.

We will be stronger next year than this year once our recruitment is finished.

Plenty of rovers fans questioning morgan during your mid season slump last year. What are the minimum expectations next season for rovers?

Hull won't make the 8 unless they get rid of agar early on

personally id be happy with top 6 this year, we defo need 2 good props on board first thou.
as for Hull, i think youll be looking to the top 6 too, on paper you may even have a top 2/3 pack, (the problem might be keeping them all on the pitch)

I'm excited about next season. We've retained the core of the team that Rovers best finish in more than 20 years.

Much loved as they were, Gene and Aizue's contributions were limited for one reason or another and they aren't getting any younger. Fozzard worked hard and was crucial when Vella was out, but he looked knackered at the back end of the season. I was sorry to see him go and he needs replacing. Fitzhenry had a good season, but more involvement from Cockayne and the arrival of Hodgson should compensate.

Comparing Rovers' recruitment to Hull's is daft. They've had to rebuild, in a way similar to us at the end of 2007. If you are doing that every year, it is a bad sign, not a good one.

The recruitment could turn out to be far better then people are making out.
Cook was highly rated just 3 seasons ago but has since lost his way and is young enough to get back to the level he 1st produced.

Leeds did not want to lose Ratu.
He impressed in the game against us this season and when he played against Wigan. Obviously Keef is still around and Kallum Watkins is going to be a special player so he has made the move.

Hodgson was Hull best reserve player in the 2 derbies i saw by a country mile and the fact Morgan wanted him 12 months ago and bided his time to get him speaks volumes.

There are still a couple to come in at the senior end of the squad and i expect a couple of reserves to get 12 month deals also.

Fozz was great off the field not as good on it after a really good start to the season.
Fitzy id like to have kept given the form he showed last season.
Esders never got the chance based on his performances in the reserves which gave no real indication he would step up but credit to him for making the most of his chance at Quins.
